    Description:
About women and money, freedom and the lack of it for people who sign themselves away in return for the glamour of a day sat in an expensive car, or a night in an expensive hotel.

    Mascara
    Piled on lash
    By lash
    Piled sky-high.
    An inch of fake lash
    From each eye
    Iím so sophisticated

    Cat-like
    With no real home
    Just Ďfriendsí round
    Each corner
    Iíve a man who takes
    Me out,
    And some who
    Keep me in.

    Iím sophisticated

    Soft panther,
    Silk tights
    Over shaved legs.
    Curved silhouettes
    Of suggestion
    Beneath my tight skirt,
    And black cherry
    lips.

    I am sophisticated

    Money buys me
    Wishes
    It opens doors
    But Iím still
    A whore
    To hypocrisy
    And sweet
    Suffocation,
    Sophistication,
The sheen of glass diamond homes.

      i also like the lines
    "It opens doors
    But Iím still
    A whore
    To hypocrisy"

i can't understand why anybody would do that, sell their soul, sign away their life. and i love how you touch on the hypocrisy of being sophisticated and yet, still being a "whore". maybe i'm taking it the wrong way... anyway, i thought this was really very good. there is another poem on this site (can't think of the name of it right now) that deals with prositution and the like, if you want to know the name of it, i can tell you later if you want to read it for yourself.

So true is your poem about people selling their soul for mere entertainment. Though in a way,it keep real lovers in check by their peacock display.

What I like most about your poem is the ending, you never let the sophisticated woman off with some happy ending, keep it to it true form, bravo

      It opens doors

These are my favorite lines. Nice analogy. I think any women can be sophisticated no matter what she does. Society does paint a portrait of what we should be and how we should carry ourselfs. I think that is bull [censored].
No man sitting in the white house (or any house) can judge me for what he thinks I should be. Women get missed judged a lot and it makes me pretty angery if you couldn't tell already. Nice poem I enjoy the topis and description there of. keep it up. Tameson
