Description: As I see it, this poem could be read start to finish and back again and still make some sense. at the beginning I was telling it backwards as a memory, but when I read it last and back up, it made sense still, thus the title.
A Reversal Proposal -------------------------------------------
In the midst of all delusion
I can still claw my way into a problem.
But when proposals faint
and all together become
sparks flash
and fire burns
pupils slowly dialate
and come to the unnerving truth
that's the only way
In the calm of the situation
I could still manage to prepare a new stillness
and when the air grows thick
and burdens the shoulders down
head droops
and eyes lowered
looking at the sky is impossible
and welcome to the greeting of concrete
as you meet it face to face.
In the wake of dire protection
I stand about you, grasping your attention
although nothing you remember about me
and yet everything you knew is flooding back
startled gaze
raised eyebrow
gasping for the right words
hands trembling too much to be steady
as I drop to one knee
In the shine of what sparkles so brightly
in its box revealed from my pocket
you strain to see what lies inside
and quietly listening to me
nervous stuttering
a modest proposal
the sweetest words I know are yours
taking them like the sweetest candy
and I ask you the question.
