A winterís breeze caught in my hair.
Meaninglessly placed in a box full of meaningful memories I'd like to remember.
Yours are the only lips I've wondered about.
Wondered why they mouthed the curses you spat at me in angry remorse.
Dreamt up a new hope and told the child in me to hold on.
Coexisted for but a few weeks and ran away like Goldy Locks in unsafe territories.
The dreamer in me loved your reveries.
Never mine, but I hoped to be a part of them.
Cried until my eyes bled black.
And all is well for the unsophisticated...
For the untrained beholder.
I hold it out to you rather than wear it on my sleeve.
But nonetheless I am invisible to you.
Tell Miss Maudie I did what I could.
And I didn't bother to whisper to the passing wind that tangled itself in my useless tragedies.
I never learned my lesson.
