Who’d of known the holiday Which I most despised Would mark the most significant Accomplishment of my life. I didn’t comprehend how Unconditional love could be Until she took that first breath And I held her tenderly. She had these big brown eyes, And a head full of dark curls I cried tears of pride For mama’s beautiful baby girl. And now that tiny baby Turns nine this year Time for me to give her space To conquer her own fears I’ll never fully let her go She’ll always be my baby Though I’ll teach her how to Become a beautiful intelligent young lady. |
Thats nice chic. I mean...havin a son or daughter isn't something I have experienced quite yet, but when the times right...I plan to. I love kids...some people dont, and i just can't see why. So...anyway...u did a really good job. You can tell how you were feeling through this entry. Good job...beyond good. And thank you for commenting on my page. I appreciate it| Posted on 2005-11-15 00:00:00 | by PrettyRicki | [ Reply to This ] | I love this. The way you started by saying it was the holiday you most despise. That caught my attention too. I understand the disgust, but then you turned the writing into something different. Its not about that love that finally came. No its about your daughter, and having her. She makes the world a better place and you can see that. | | Posted on 2005-10-20 00:00:00 | by Sweet as Sugar | [ Reply to This ] | this is really so nice to read i should say anyway looks to me like the growth of a new plant that is loved by the gardener he keeps trimming it according to the way he likes it to be.the descrptive imagery quite had an impact on me. | | Posted on 2005-04-10 00:00:00 | by kittycampbel | [ Reply to This ] | Awwww. This is so sweet. Your daughter is very lucky to have a mother like you. As you know from reading "Mother's Day", I didn't have that luxury. I myself hate Valentine's Day... such a commercial freakin' holiday... Nice to get chocolate and flowers from lovesick little boys though! But yeah, I can't imagine how much stronger your love for her most be, because you portrayed it beautifully... | | Posted on 2005-02-09 00:00:00 | by Phoenix2004 | [ Reply to This ] | Wow. I have never heard such a sweet piece. I think I may have expected something different to what the title seemed to point out to me, but to tell you the truth, I liked what I read here much better than what I was expecting to be of this. Bravo so many times in a row. A different type of lobve was given to you on this day of all days.! | | Posted on 2005-02-08 00:00:00 | by Chicool2 | [ Reply to This ] | BRAVO...I don't normally like poems about kids...for it tends to be all gushed out by our overwhelming love for our children. | But this is a master piece ;) Brilliant and bright as her eyes I'm sure. I can so relate to this as my baby will be ten in june and for the past couple months that's all I can say...my baby is going to be TEN...holy Your right...all we can do is raise them right and help them fly out into the world on strong wings. I love this...a fav forever...thank you...now this smile will hold all day at work...and ever time I think of my girl...growing so darn fast...yeah this will come to mind today! Thanks for the read ;) Kelly | Posted on 2005-02-08 00:00:00 | by clay | [ Reply to This ] | *sob* ....I hate valentines day too .... | This poem is so beautiful ...This was easy to read and so refreshing with all the sad stuff about ...*cough* including mine :o .... Bravo to you And best wishes for you and Selina ....(love that name) | Posted on 2005-02-07 00:00:00 | by Krysti | [ Reply to This ] | how sweet is that! let's all just say AWWWWWWW...! | it's nice that you have a whole new and different meaning to Valentine's day. it's way too commercialized, and people who aren't with someone end up feeling really alone. i just give valentines to all my friends and family, 'cause i love them. this year i have my special someone, and that's great, but you've got this beautiful daughter to always remind you of what love is really about. very nice. happy valentine's day to you and her! ![]() | Posted on 2005-02-06 00:00:00 | by magnicat | [ Reply to This ] | Awwwwww...That's so sweet! Looka' da baby...goo goo ga ga. I just love kids. I've worked with children for the last five years now. They always will have a spot in my heart. Congratulations! Maybe if I had one I could get a real income tax return...Keep doing what ya doing boo. | | Posted on 2005-02-04 00:00:00 | by xtremegentleman | [ Reply to This ] | I too dislike Valentines day big time, lol | I think this such a lovely tribrute to your daughter Selina. Yes kids do grow way too fast and they are the greatest thing that happen to any person. You can feel how of a mother you are, bravo | Posted on 2005-02-03 00:00:00 | by edthepoet | [ Reply to This ] | Aww... this poem is very cute. It had a nice flow to it, the rhyming wasn't too forced and I could read it through without stumbling across an odd choice of words that didn't make sense. Once again, I have to say it was cute and sweet! | -LucyDiamond | Posted on 2005-02-03 00:00:00 | by LucyDiamond | [ Reply to This ] | This was a refreshing piece, because, just like most who are not in love, Valentines day is annoying to me. But for some reason, I still felt drawn to read this poem after reading the title, and I'm glad I did. This was a touching poem, very nicely written and emotionally packed. Congratulations on the "most significant accomplishment" of your life. Happy Birthday to your daughter, and she is very lucky to have a mom who loves her as much as you must. | | Posted on 2005-02-03 00:00:00 | by Luckyduck | [ Reply to This ] | this is so special! it must be AMAZING to be a parent, cant wait myself.
