    Description:
This nightmare I have for some reason always penetrates my mind in my sleep...I thought that maybe if I wrote it down that I would stop dreaming it.....This nightmare always leaves me feeling adrenalized....Do you have any ideas or advice as to what this nightmare can mean? Are there any dream readers out there?

" A re-ocurring dream that never fails to leave me with a feeling of fear and curiousity. In my mind it seems so short, but the memory remains vivid and everlasting. It is a nightmare that I had as a child - and even now.

In the dream, I am talking to my mother inside of a certain house that my grandmother built. For some reason, as I am talking to my mother, I end up outside walking. My intentions are to pick flowers for someone. Everything around me is black, and white, but in a distance I see a small field of red roses - VERY vivid in color (the most beautiful roses I had ever seen.) As I walk over, a sense of fear overwhelms me, yet I keep walking closer... In the center of this small field of roses I spot this HUGE rabid, black dog staring at me with these fiendish red eyes. (The image still burned into my memory.) My heart stops. I start to run and the dog is chasing me. My heart starts pounding louder, harder, and faster. I get back into the house and nobody is there, so I start slamming all of the doors behind* me. When I finally reach the bathroom, I lock the door and I turn around to see the dog three feet away. As I start to scream, the dog sinks its teeth into my flesh and I wake up with sweat beaded along my forehead. This dream...I know it means something but I can't quite grasp it.

There is a legend I am told of in Germany with the same description of the animal. The dog is said to be a shape-shifter whose true form is the devil, but what could this mean? I am still left pondering this re-occuring nightmare."

I'll tell you Samantha, I'm no doctor, but I think the answer to this may be fairly simple. The answer is, most likely, somewhere - not in the future - but in the PAST. Maybe when you were small, really small you were frightened by a dog. And - children's imaginations being what they are... the imagination of a child - you worked out, subconsciously, this whole thing in your head. That is what I would say if I had to give you just an analysation of the dream. And it would end here. <- And I would say

    "- Yours, Virgil."

But you know me. I can't just end it like that. I haven't addressed all of the thoughts running rampant through my troubled mind. There is something about this that rather distracts from it in a way. I think it is that everything is jumbled together all in one big hunk of text and makes it look ratherlikethisbutkindofalittlemorecoherent. Might I suggest breaking it up into some sort of... paragraphs, perhaps? Something to the effect of:

this. Except with indentations, as I'm sure the site will not allow me to have an adequate amount of spaces inserted there as to resemble an attempt at indenting. This is interesting, I should print this out and ask my psychiatrist what he thinks it means. What you need, though, is a psycho-analylist because this is closer to THEIR job description than a psychiatrist's. My doctor would be all, "I don't know, is it you having this dream?" To which I would have to reply, "No," because it isn't. And then he would get mad and then I would leave. Like I'm doing now. *hugs*

    - Virgil... the watcher - keeping silent vigil.

I used to have dreams that I was dying, and when I woke up I was always in a hospital. I would be dreaming while in a type of narcoleptic coma. They say your dreams reflect your past and future. Maybe it means you're going to have a rough time in life. I don't really know. Find a dream book and look it up.
