    Hypnotically psychotic
    This dancing without limbs
    Thought and perception lie
    Only heat is real

    Broken glass reflects broken smiles
Reality has no place in green eyes
    Laughter lights the sky
Fire travels the path of cold hands
    Salvation is neglected in artificiality
No one is lost without wanting to be

Day breaks and the insects scurry
    Scattering like burnt paper ashes
    The scent of vulnerability lingers
    Stale air chokes unspoken promises
Dust falls through beams of sunlight

Disappearing acts are common in these hours
    Expectations only limit experience
A sea of merlot rises within
Staining berber and silk once out

    Fetal positions are for survivors
Free-float in your womb of nails and knives
    Metal prisons keep you safe

Hide your indifference in plain sight
Lock the memories in cold beige walls
Let them seep into the cracks
    Threatening to close around micro-worlds

    Drown on your knees
    Hands tight over ears
    Hold the water inside you
Push it through your veins like curdled milk

Trace the path with sharp words
    Sentences swim in vacant stares
    Never let peace consume you

Deny the sour taste that sleeps in the back of your throat
Pack your bitterness in small suitcases
    Leaving no door unlocked

Pretend you left your demons behind
Ignore them when they flood your dreams
Remove another part of your soul and leave it at the gate

    Then start again
With new pain and weaker shoulders
Stockpiling guilt until it tumbles and crushes you

Well, this is definitely correctly classified (Mirror Or Mask). The imagery was dark and brooding; it brought to mind the constant need to bury ourselves under layer upon layer of...well, just layers. -.-

Especially the "salvation is neglected in artificiality" line...which basically crams all I've been going on about into one line. Which is basically what this does, except that it's more heated and passionate, so it goes on beyond that line. But perhaps I'm misunderstanding it. *-*

This is my first favorite!! I thought the imagery was spectacular. Some really great lines in here. No one is lost that doesn't want to be. I'll print this for the fridge, and read it with my wine later.

I thought it was very sexual, in a love em for the night kinda way. But then again, I think about sex enough to be a man.

I found some of it a bit hard to interpret, because of the wording, but, I am a bit lazy.

    Great piece, I'll view more.
