Description: I wrote this poem for my grandma when she was in the hospital after her stroke. At that point in time, she couldn't talk or use her entire left side. but Im proud to say shes gotten alot better and had a half decent recovery.
A Nanny's Prayer -------------------------------------------
May you always put a smile
On a sad tired face.
May you always find happiness
In every person and place.
May you always lend a hand
To fix a mistake.
May you always have friends
Who think that you're great.
May you always have faith
And the strength to move on.
May you always be prayed for,
Like in the days we've forgone.
May you always be careing,
May you always be loved,
May you always be blessed
By the angels above.
Wonderful write, Ashley.........just the simple, sincere prayer of a grandmother.............you got just the right words here ...............these are the basic joys that make life so beautiful............and an experienced, old, loving grandmother would wish just these for her children and grand children.............very well written.....you got the rhyme steady too.......Good Job! : )
I couldn't get head around this line "Like im the days we've forgone" ..forgive me ....Ill blame lack of sleep ...This is such a nice tribute to your nanna though ....It reminds me alot of how i used to write ..and i still do at times ...This was like a prayer ...And its just really pretty..Good Job ..Blessed Be
wow....this is what i think my dad would say when he passed on...i was 3 so i dont remember much, but i can definately hear his voice in ur poem. beautiful work
THis is wonderful. I really can't critize this because of how powerful and meaningful it is. If you showed this to your grandmother...i'm sure it brought a smile to her face. Hope she can be there with you for the time that you need each other. Much love to ya mikki ;)
This is really sweet. I hope you gave her a copy. Treasure the time you have with her-you never know how soon she might be gone (hopefully she'll be hale and healthy for a very long time). :-)
