Like rue is for grace, Or violet for thought, You are my rose For love that was lost. As a desert is dry, As a knife is sharp, You are my light, To be led through the dark. I cherish you deeply For all that I know, Like remembering rosemary, You are my rose. |
Short but sweet...as they say. I love the rhyme scheme. I am a bit let down; however, not because of a mistake you made (which I found none). I am only bothered that it was so short. It is so well written that I can't help but to want to read more of it, while there is no more to it. "Like rue is for grace-Like violet for thought-You are my rose-For love that was lost." I love the expressive symbolism you use here, and throughout the whole poem. This is an awesome poem babe, keep it up!| Posted on 2005-04-12 00:00:00 | by Samuel Bielz | [ Reply to This ] | |
