This is a little demo I made for the users of EliteSkills. Alas, it's not the whole band and it's not very fancy. It's supposed to be a paino ballad but I couldn't record that for you so... Here's a rock version!

    dotsThese Days - NOW ONLINEdots

Saw a picture of how life could be
She'd be next to me and I'd be him
Saw them smiling, saw them laugh at me
I know reality will always be grim

Read my diary, read my thoughts on you
Every breath I drew was with good intent
Saw my failure but what could I do?
Every word was true but now they're all spent

And these days it's getting harder
To remember all those things about you
    This room is getting colder
    Our lies are growing bolder
    These days, these days

Make a movie of the tragedy
Is it blasphemy to say I was right?
I will try to defy gravity
    But I'm falling free tonight

'Cause these days it's getting harder
To remember all those things about you
    This room is getting colder
    Our lies are growing bolder
    These days, these days

Beautiful. No that's not the word for it but it will work. I'm too tired to think of something more appropriate. Send me the mp3 please. Later Ash.

Okay so with this piece right off the bat I notice it has a much more pleasing ring to it. Just reading it I can hear the music behind the syllabics/phonetic rhythm/rhyme. I bet this sounds good set to music, but again, I feel the gap between lyrics as music, and poetry as art, and the disadvantage of not actually hearing the music. If you want to share it, you can email whatever you have to me at mandrevancrown@yahoo.com.

nowadays its so hard to have the fairytale happy-go-lucky relationship ya know..i imagined , while reading this piece, a newly bought picture frame..from perhaps a dollar store or whatnot. The default picture seems so flawless, a man and a woman most likely cuddling together, eyes placed upon each other or perhaps someone who has not been captured in the photo. Oh how you wish your love could be so innocent, so easy. Life in the real world does not allow such things to happen in these common days, unfortunately. You oh so want it be that way, proof is in your mind, in the words you write...
*siigh* Love this piece, perhaps i am getting quite soft now but i think it will be of a great asset if i kept a box of klennex nearby when visiting this site. Im a sucker for love poems, music, movies, etc and your piece only made me believe in it even more..for your piece whispers to me that these days its nearly impossible for real love but I have this love for you... such a piece also says to me: yearning..once again, a truly magnificient job

heyy. mind sending me the mp3 as well?

this reminds me of 'mad girl's love song' by sylvia plath, poetry made into a song. personally, i feel a lot of modern day songs, esp those that fall in the thrashy pop genre, lack depth. but yours carry such a nostalgic sense of resignation. i love it.
