Description: This was mainly written for my amusement, and slightly based on a family joke. But I happen to love this haiku. However, any suggestions/comments are greatly appreciated, as usual. Please feel free to share your ideas with me.
A New Pet -------------------------------------------
Forlorn and friendless
He followed me home today
Can we keep him… please?
that was cute. I'm not usually a fan of short poems and I'm not familiar with the Haiky thing but one thing is I laughed. This too is a running joke in my family except I'm the new pet, my mom says I just followed her home one day and she hasn't been able to get rid of me since. Plus this is also the lie I used to get my mom to let me keep my cat when I was five. except the story was a little more like... He stole my cookie and then followed me home. Anyway good job.
To the point! I think my family has the same running joke. That's how I still have five cats (from before I married and moved out) had to get rid of the iguana that followed me home (I live in Connecticut, USA), and two other cats. My husband wants a dog to follow him home now, probably to get rid of my five cats. LOL
