Caught up in something I could never understand
Wanting to touch this power, I hold out my hand
But next thing I know, I'm up on the stage;

How I wish I could stay in here forevermore
It's a safe haven, where I can express
As fierce as a lion, I can let out a roar
In this sacred place, I've the controls to myself
The strings to my life taken off the dusty shelf
Here my eyes open, so wide and alert
For once, there's no need for me to cry out for help
Standing in the spotlight, my heart reflected bright
Gazing straight forward, there is no end to my sight
There will be a big future, a big life
But through it all, 'twill always be here- my respite. |
