Where Nightmares Collide -------------------------------------------
In the bowels of pain
Where angels have cried
Where the howlings of demons
Harmoniously collide
And pleas of forgiveness
Forever denied
For torturous memories
One tries so hard to hide
This is the dreamscape
A dowry of sin
This is the prison
Where nightmares begin
In this cavernous hell
Created in mind
Where even angels lie hopeless
Abused and denied
Their prayers unanswered
Forever entwined
In maddening echos
Of things far behind
This is the shadow
Cast endless and cold
This is the darkness
Where nightmares unfold
In this feverish void
Where angels are slain
Where the torments rip
Through a subliminal domain
And demons wonder
Forever insane
With thunderous whispers
So loud and profane
This is the anger
That boils inside
This is the fury

Pretty amazing stuff. I'm with Rachel (Nebnim) this explores a completely different world than most people think about.

The create images in my mind of angels that are really used to being a bit tougher than others and on the winning side of the battle. They're used to being the big boys on the block and now they're wimpering a bit. Their rules just don't apply here. Someone else is calling the shots. Spectacular imagery.
wow. i agree with hagerina, a lot of gothic imagery that was absolutely incredible. so sad about the angels though... well, this was very, very good. very much enjoyed.

Ashlee, First, thank you for your comment (and compliment) on my work. It is much appreciated. You have a very eloquent way of speaking. I wonder, do you talk like you write? This poem touches me. The talk of Angel's and their pain (something I believe scarce few write about) makes me sad, but relieved in a sense. "In this cavernous hell Created in mind Where even angels lie hopeless Abused and denied" I look forward to speaking with you again, and reading more of your work.
