A Poem3

She stared at the sillouette for a long, long while,
it was her own, it stood in the mirror...very still.
Her heart was loud in her ears, her skin felt a chill,
she felt what could not be seen, blood...sweat...bile.

She did not want to see what the shadows concealed,
the shame streamed from her eyes in a sudden rush.
Tabathas' heart, once whole, now crushed,
she felt as if in a slumberous vision, this reality not real.

With a quaking hand,Tabatha flipped up the switch,
the light bathed every cut and bruise, her eye closed.
A rush of air emitted over her lips, her anger rose,
she screamed at herself, an enraged pitch.

She once thought he was the perfect groom,
what love was this that caused her pain?
"This love is not love," her sister would explain,
and now in the present, she stood bloody in their room.

Without fail he would apologize, a sincere tone,
Tabatha would look into his eyes, surrender an embrace.
She felt as a fool, staring at her beaten face,
she thought of her sister and ran to the phone.

Tabatha packed a bag, and rushed to the door,
he would be back soon, with empty regret.
One day she'd find true love, this "love" she wouldn't forget.

I know the feeling what she thought was love turned out not to be.maybe someday she will find out what true love is and thank god she packed a bag and left. this is very good I hope you never tire of writing it's almost like reading short stories.

I dont think this poem went from pain to love. It seems as though by putting love in quotes what you were really saying was it wasnt love at all and eventually she would realize that with a true love. I found this to be very well written and the all so true story of so many relationships. You did give her salvation, that of a loving sister. This was a good read.

This is very sad. I know someone, I love that is in
this type of relationship and it's heart breaking.
Your wording showed great emotion. I agree
with the last comment I'm not sure what you mean
in the last line.

This poetry is well written, but at the end it seems at it changes the perspective from pain to love. I dont think this works so good with this text, but other than that, it's actually very good.
