Description: watched that video called thirteen again. scarier than any horror flick ever filmed. my son broke up with a girl who cut herself. he was all: "you need help. later." when she showed him. then my Sweetie embarassed me by going, "you know, son, your mother used to do that, too.". why do kids do this to themselves? i did it and i'm still not sure why...
Wow. such a big theme captured in such a small poem. I really like this piece and the metaphors "braille" and "tatoo" for the scars. Hey this is a really clever piece. I kno its simple and derives that from the simple act of cutting yourself, but on a much more higher level is very serious. Youve managed to achieve this thru u distinctive sense of style and writing. excellent work.
The cutting is supposed to create the pain in a physical manifestation to ease the emotional pain one feels inside. But what the hell would I know about it? I've never been a cutter, it's sooo much easier to lash out in hateful comments to those which are the cause of the emotional pain. It just makes everybody feel better, no? As to the poem, it's a touch short for such a deep (no pun intended) subject. I like the word choices though, and it certainly invokes emotion, which one I'm still not sure yet...This is a good piece and I thank you for the read, rue. His Assholiness-
