    dotsMy Mother_____Resubmitdots

    Chocolate brown orbs
    glitter like a diamond gorge
from the eyes of my mother

    From creator to lover
    this woman my mother
    eight children she did bear

With arms open wide, and smile to the side
    she beckons and calls
    to all children enthralled

She loves she gives, she holds hate like a sieve

Beautiful is she, even in sleep
she kissed my hurts like skinned knees

One day I hope to emulate
to walk the shadow of one so great
    to be
    to sleep
    to smile
    to keep...
    The ways of My Mother

Talk about a great Mother's day poem. The wording was well chosen, I may have changed the typing structure a little, but that's just me. You have a great way of expressing yourself. Keep it up :)

Artisitic tribute to your mother that this reader appreciates. Like the way your descritption rolled like a reel of tape with audio...great presentation. Your subject matter was interesting even in its sentiment hardly boring like I really like "One day I hope to emulate
to walk the shadow of one so great
    to be
    to sleep
    to smile
    to keep...
    The ways of My Mother"
    `Always write poetry, Cheryl.

This greaqt descripion...i get a picture of your mom just reading. This really would be a good Mother's day present. It's very touching. I love the second stanza, its very fitting and apt to the subject, and flows beautifully. "She kissed my hurts like skinned knees." That was a great line too, and good how it described emotional hurt like a simple skinned knee. Very good job.

I do hope you let her read this.
As a mother, I know it would have touched me deeply.

And the greatest tribute of all...wanting to be like her.

this is so sweet. you must have a really strong relationship with your mother to write her something like this, huh?

"She loves she gives, she holds hate like a sieve"

obviously, sieves don't really hold anything, so i guess that means she doesn't have hate at all. well, this was nice, i liked it. ...bb...
