look at me...
im the soldier from east texas fightin'
so you can sleep in peace at night and
no that ill do everything to keep you free...
and look at me...
i'm a soldier from oklahoma marchin'
towards the million machine guns barkin'
and keep going on because i want you free...
i would fight the good fight beside my brothers
and i'd lay my life down for another
i would bleed for you, 'cause you'd die for me
we would show the world that freedom don't come free
and i would go to war with my countrymen
we would fight the battles and take the win
we will fear no evil, and fear no pain
we would fight for you out in that pourin' rain!
now look at us...
we're the soldiers from America drivin'
so we can keep you all alive and
make the terrorist end their reign on the world...
i would fight the good fight beside my brothers
and i'd lay my life down for another
i would bleed for you, 'cause you'd die for me
we would show the world that freedom don't come free
and i would go to war with my countrymen
we would fight the battles and take the win
we will fear no evil, and fear no pain
we would fight for you out in that pourin' rain!
Wow, vvv is kind of an idiot, but whatever. Anyway - the poem! Brillianty done. Written with passion and catchy phrases, not too boring, and it makes a good point. Several good points, actually. Writing style is more than advanced. Seems to me like this could be a song.
This poem gives the glory back to soldiers...glory that should never die.
Only an american would think that the war is fought by yanks alone. Poems about blind patriotism realy turn my stomach. The bird can only say what it hears. Polly want a cracker sevred in an american flag soaked through with the blood of young men and women the world over?
This was really good...i'm sort of curious to see how the music is. It reminds me of something Toby Keith would've written. Just to get a picture...is the supposed to be acoustic?
OK, we're agreed - vv is a dope. This should be printed and pasted on the wall of every do-goodin' peacenick wannabe's wall, and they should be made to read it three times a day!
