       For Alexis, (pennyroyal tea )

This began in a response to her poem Fairy Kingdom, but then took me off to another place.

There is a place that can only be perceived with the senses of our imagination. It arises like an island in a sea of fantasy. It exists within us, and is never far away if we surrender to its calling, let it draw us into the other reality. From there, here looks like the hallucination. We lived in that neighborhood as children but grew up and moved away.

We may never be able to move back, but it is good to visit. At least send a postcard once in a while. Simply address it to love.

    We are waiting
    Bring your laughter
    Join our dance
    The song is never complete
    Without the music
    Your heart makes

    Remember the moves
    Your body knows
    So does your soul
    Surrender to movement
    Love in motion
    Invoke, evoke and emote

    There is no forgetting
    No dementia to diminish
    Performance of passion
    Remember the rapture
    Your first lover
    Your first breath

    Simple breathing
    Empty chest
    Unburden heart
    Push it out and
    In flows the fresh
    Fill, release and repeat

    The universe moves
    Swirling around
    And moving beyond
    Let it take you
    Bring you
    To this place

OMG, my heart is pumping! This is wonderful. So much of what we read is sad (see my work) or maybe somewhat hopeful but with a hint of sadness (see my work) but rarely do we find anything this upbeat and just plain happy. It is so damn refreshing!

And yes, we used to spend the whole day there, with brief interuptions for homework or scolding, but then we'd walk away and back to the dance...and then there becomes too much homework and scolding on a whole different level and its as if we forget how to get back here.

I, for one, spend more time here than can possibly be healthy, so I'm glad you are reminding others...I can use the company.

really, really cool stuff, my new friend

I have to get out of this chair and...and...AHHHHH! I just want to scream and jump and...I'm gonna go put Ben Lee on and open the windows and let the neighbors think I've gone completely mad (as if they didn't already know)

I like this piece. It reminds me of neverland...(I just watched Finding Neverland.....)

I don't know if you meant to, but some nice use of alliteration.
    (ex. "No dementia to diminish
    Performance of passion
    Remember the rapture")

I like the title, I think it fits the piece,a nd I like how the first and last words are the same, I t hink it ties it together nicely.

I like this a lot because it is about the loss of imagination, and I think it could help people to want to get it back to no be so uptight. If people had some im,agination, when they saw somethig weird it might not be so awkward...
