Description:

ThE riTuAL

When ink spills over day,
creatures come to play.

Upon every face a grin,
the ritual will begin.
THE RITUAL WILL BEGIN

Her mouth parted, awaits the kiss,
the wait is short... bliss, oh bliss.

Around the fire they all drink gin,
the ritual will begin.
THE RITUAL WILL BEGIN

The embers swirl and glow in space,
the beating of hearts fill this place.

Lustful sighs create a din,
the ritual will begin.
THE RITUAL WILL BEGIN

With salt on their lips from lovers' skin,
the ritual will begin.
THE RITUAL WILL BEGIN.

The quake of their bodies knows no sin,
the ritual will begin.
THE RITUAL WILL BEGIN

From the ocean breaks the loving sun,
nine months later, the ritual has begun.
THE RITUAL HAS BEGUN

Nice work, I'm glad I caught this one tonight. The repetition works really good with this, it reads like a song, are these lyrics???

I enjoyed this. It's different, and I think the repetition ads nuance to the read. Of course the first line reminds me of writing poems, etc...how the ink just spills over and creates.
I also like the way you state how the ritual of love and life transpires. The giving in to passion.. and the result that can come from that.
Nicely written. It's separated in all the right places to emphasize each part...and it ends well. I enjoyed reading it.

I very much enjoy original pieces and I like the Ritual repetition and I loved the ending, "From the ocean breaks the loving sun,
nine months later, the ritual has begun.
THE RITUAL HAS BEGUN." I thought it was very clever how you turned it into a birth/Life poem and LATE was spelled backward in the title which fit very well! Great job!
