Hey there stranger, please donít cry.
I know the reason so wonít ask why
My shoulder for you is what I provide
And I promise to always stay at your side

Help you find yourself after each flop
I am after all your sponge mop.
Clean up the mess after the gale
    Never asking for any detail

Within all your break-ups and lovers you see
Iíll help mend the pieces they leave for me
Find a new strength to pass onto you
No matter what, Iíll get you through.

Friends donít leave when it gets rough
They stand by your side and call your bluff
Even when you slam the door in my face
Iíll be waiting arms open for you to embrace.

Remember these words I speak to you
Iím going to be here no matter what you do
By your side I will always attend
Because forever youíll be, my soul friend

Wow. I like this. If you don't mind I'm going to show this to my best friend. I love having a friend like this. I think everyone needs a friend to be there no matter what. This is a great write. I hope the friend you wrote this for apreciates it.

This is a really sweet poem.

The only thing I really have to say is this...the first stanza seemed slightly forced, and sometimes (I'm unsure of whether or not this was intentional) they seemed out of rhythm.

But I love the idea of the poem itself!

    Keep writing,

      Hey Jennifer,
I liked this a lot :) When I saw you defining Sponge Mop, I first read it as SpongeBob and had to reread it :P <never new spongebob was used in that manner!> But great heartfelt poem, with a nice rhymin' scheme! :)

    Keep up the good writes!

it reminds me of something out of chicken soup for the teenage soul.

i love the comparison of a sponge mop to a soul friend.. it is a great metaphor..

the only thing i would change is the simplicity of the ryhmes.. like "do" and "you"..

I think this was very good in my opinion
And true it was a -bit- forced
    But it was flowing
And down to earth, to be honest
    Whatever that means =p

I really like the loyalty and sentiment in this although it feels rather sad...as though this "soul friend" is using you and that you are not getting the same support and devotion in return...just the sense of someone who is very self-absorbed and unaware of the affect they have on you (or maybe I'm reading between the lines and am way off base)

    Anyway...nice piece, flows well

Think Feedback more than Compliments :: [ Guidelines ]

    1. Be honest.
    2. Try not to give only compliments.
    3. How did it make you feel?
    4. Why did it make you feel that way?
    5. Which parts?
    6. What distracted from the piece?
    7. What was unclear?
    8. What does it remind you of?
    9. How could it be improved?
    10. What would you have done differently?
    11. What was your interpretation of it?
    12. Does it feel original?

Be kind, take a few minutes to review the hard work of others <3
It means a lot to them, as it does to you.
