dotsAs I stood upon the shore…dots

As I stand upon the shore,
I see a small boy in the middle of the Lake.
He stands and stares at me with hope filled eyes,
And stretches out a small sweet hand,

And as I watch I begin to see
The boy is not scared …
He is not scared of what has befallen him
In this time of great peril and despair.

For as he began to become submerged
In the cold icy waters of the Lake..

He gave a cry of glee,
    And said …
“Do not cry for me oh my sister of agony and despair,
For I am going home to be with our brethren in sky,
And when it is your time to come
you shall feel the same joy that I have felt .”

And at this I gave start…
And in reply I only said…
“Be with our God my brother of despair,
For we shall meet again in another place.”

And as I stood on the shore
And watched the boy’s head disappear,
I felt one small tear fall,
    And cried out after him.

This was interesting. A unique take on death. It is unlike other poems posted here about the same topic. You have done a good job. :)
