    dotsMan or Woman…dots
    -------------------------------------------

As I stood staring at the sky,
    I began to see,
That life is only as good as we make it.

We can choose to fall in love,
Or you can choose to lie in wait
For something that may never come.

We can choose to speak out,
Or we can choose to be quiet ,
And do as everyone else has done.

    We can sit and listen,
    Instead of speaking out,

We can be silenced by the pressures of those around us,
Or we can be hated for our minds.

A man can stand and speak out and they call him a genius,
But if a woman speaks out they call her a fool.

A man can stand and fight and die for what he believes in,
But a woman must stay where it is safe.
And why may I ask must the women stay behind,
And sit in wait for their boys to come home.
Why may I ask is a man’s life less valued than a women’s?
Or is it that men have more honor in death than women?

Why is it that people believe a women is not capable of doing the same thing as a man?

As I stood staring at the sky
With these thoughts rushing through my mind,
I began to feel a surge of white hot rage course through my mind and my very blood.
I began to shake with rage,
The heat of my anger gave me strength,
It strengthens me to do as I please
And to see that women are the black man of a new age and era.

It starts on a calmer tone, romantic in a dark way but as we read further it questions the traditional set-up of the poem. Times like this when rebels are born and turn the rules in a flash. Personally, i liked the way it asks the age-old questions. But things take time to change. Change is a gradual process and it's better that way. I see people around and see that society is slowly/steadly opening up. Gays are coming out of their closets, women are making mark. natural calamities are being handled well with united efforts of all the nations.

Relax, society changes when people change. So, you do good in your part of the world :)

Sorryyy for the long speech, but it's Sunday.I have nothing better to do ;)

Sentiments that are reminiscent of John Lennon's song 'Women is the N!gger of the World'. So I wouldn't say new age and era, if he was singing that over twenty-five years ago. I found this a medicore poem, with a few sparkeling moments, but not enough for me to really classify it as good. Keep at it and take care. Oh, and check out the song.
