    I see spark-spiders
    glowing in the night sky,
    burning like temporary stars,
    falling like flaming rain
    to the dull earth below.
Perhaps the wind will pick the embers up,
and push them back into the sky
before they fade like ancient, extinguished gaslights.

I like the spider illustration for fireworks and it's glow that shines on objects below. I also like the smell of the gunpower or whatever that is especially on 4th of july when its real thick. this brings back some fond memories. favorite two lines "Burning like temporary stars Falling like flaming rain" nice visual read, mike

At first I thought shooting star with this but then I couldnt get that to fit spider sparps. Now I see fireworks exploding! Yep that works for me.
Put me right back into a memory of bonfire night!

i'm digging deep down today! "spark spiders" is a great name for fireworks (i assume that's what you are referring to here). "falling like flaming rain" is a great image. i'll think of spark spiders now when i see fireworks in the future!

mmm... I can't decide if you mean fireworks, or the sparks that jump up out of a really good bonfire... Either one works beautifully, and the language is a pleasure to read. Well done! <><
