Description: I wrote this in my James Baldwin novel on the return back from Chicago. I was having a lot of issues swirling in my head about the past month. So here's a product of my thoughts...
Goodbye, Kiss -------------------------------------------
It was just a kiss
A peck on the cheek
Holding me close
As if I was leaving
I will still exist
Walking the streets
Infecting their minds
But I cannot,
Will not
Continue to live your fantasy
A dream where only "we" matters
So in a firm grasp
I look in your eyes
With just a kiss
I say,
Goodbye
I have never read James Baldwin, but he looks interesting.
I think I get the meaning of the piece. It was very interesting as well, but I see that it has been a while since you wrote it and alot may have changed.
You seem like an interesting person who writes what he feels. I am glad we have 'met' again.
I just the other day asked Jimmy if he could put together a way for us to keep in touch with a group of other writers who we share interests. Sort of a 'Circle of Friends' list.
this sounds so final...i personally despise goodbye kisses... but the only thing that i don't get is the part where is says: "Walking the streets Turning heads Infecting their minds." other than that, i really like the emotion that you evoked here...
