    -------------------------------------------

    I saw a little barbie
    walking down the street
    her body 'coming plastic
    with every waking step

    decorated "damaged"
    old english and fairy tales.
    spaghetti fingers stringing
    through her long sunrayed locks

    trying to cake beauty
    beauty on her hidden face
    though true beauty
    is covered up.

    longing for belonging
    craving to be needed
    choosing all the wrong
    long winding paths.

    knowing though not choosing
    the plain simple narrow
    going farther yet
for all that will befall her.

The image of this person reflects objectification through vanity from the vabtage point of an observer. There is a vacuous feel in the descriptors with a tinge of hostility and resentment. There is less pity than one would expect.

The rapidity of words come at the reader like an insult. Scorn seems to be the point here. This was very well written, but a tad harsh.
