I wrote this about 2 years ago in a journal and found it the other day... Its about that fear of falling too hard--I'm sure you all can relate!

Silken roses fall down from the heavens,
And float gently on the breeze...
While whispering winds so gently counsel me-
"Just close your eyes and breathe".

    Tenderness sends shivers,
Up and down my velvet skin...
And Love keeps calling out to me-
But Iím afraid to love again...

My defenses fall too, as a petal falls from my lips
Stained with wine and words unspoken,
Down to your beautiful, crimson lips,
and the angels softly whisper, "Let your heart be broken."

this is simply lovely. i am glad you unearthed it from your journal. this idea has been expressed by others before but never so gently or so beautifully. like the smile that shines through tears... it is that very special courage that many of us need. a very evocative piece of writing..and apparently quite effortless. wonderful. Thank you. J

hmmm...very interesting...and thought provoking, though I feel that it may be the opposite that an angel would say, I think that if it was really love, it would heal the heart...cuz like you said, the heart is already broken. Sounds more like a lack of trust issue rather fear of falling in love, anyone can fall in love with someone, ya know...but to whole heartedly trust...thats the big test, and that test has no final question or final answer, ya know? But, thats just what I get out of it. Have a good one and keep smilin'

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the 'angel' is couseling you to step out on faith and risk heartbreak to find love; any other interpretation would seem naive. This was very quiet and composed, nearly as soft as the rose petal you imagine falling from your lips. An excellent vision of the dilemma of trust, faith and human emotion. I don't think I've read anything quite so hushed in a long time.

No regrets is basically the message I'm getting from this poem. To be honest, I like it for it's blunt disguise. It's like your telling us to give it our all in a way where if we didn't we would really miss out on something beautiful.
