Short Perfection -------------------------------------------
My paper is full of scratches,
I'm trying to write something flawless.
My goal is to write something,
That no one can think negative about.
But I truly think thats impossible...
I mean think about it,
Nothing can be perfect can it?
I think that's a fatal insecurity all writers have, not matter what genre they write. A lot of us have had nights with crumpled paper at our feet, trying desperatley to get something just right in words. You captured that manic frustration very well in just that little stanza. That's very hard to do. But I think in the end what we all need to realize is that there really isn't the perfect writing, someone somewhere will think something's wrong with it, and we just need to write what makes us happy and not be so dependant on other people's expectations. Great job, I'm adding this to my favs ^_^
well i guess u are right no poet writes and escapes critcism. Its always there. themore u get it the more u improve. the more u work on your mistakes the more you get to something perfect. thats how it works then being perfect will become permanent though not natural.
I understand what you're saying. But i quote i wrote a while ago should answer your question. "It's perfection in flaws." You see flaws are what create perfection. Because it's that way things are. a diamond can only be created from coal. you understand what i'm saying? You're smart i think you do. I did enjoy the piece. the first 2 lines are very creative. thanks for allowing me to read it.
well if this doesnt go through my mind every single time i write. it is impossible i think, because so many people have so many different things they like and hate, so it'd be impossible to get everyone to agree on something..ya know.. anyways i think you should stop trying to do that, and write something YOU think is beautiful and flawless if thats possible, then you can let us worry about any mistakes, the little things to help it out so YOU enjoy it more. good luck -steph
Oooooo...this was a concept I have been thinking about writing about for a few weeks now...but this was much shorter and to the point as what I was going to write. But I have put my lame arse on a posting diet, so I havent written it, HA! Cool beans woman...must be that great minds thinking thing.
I liked the angst you put into this and it didnt come off as just another venting/rant deal...it has a legitimate point to it. If someone wrote the perfect thing it would be impossible. I mean, c'mon, we have that Bible book thats supposed to be "the way", yet people still question and debate it...free will...what can ya do, ya know? I really liked this one ma dear. Thanks for posting it. Have a good one and keep smilin'
