Description: Okay, this is a marathon (at least for me), I hope you all can get through it. This really came out of some of the stuff that happened all summer. I guess that I'm just trying to say that people really are important, sometimes more than we think.
This is for Niki.
Drift -------------------------------------------
Part I
Floating on the wide ocean
Independant, but connected
Each with their own purpose
But longing to belong
New friendship was spawned
In the land of unknown
Nurtured until it evolved
Evolved past what
It was dreamt to be
Floating, but still connected
Each place the other on the shelf
And move on independantly
Always holding back
Waiting for the other
To make the move
The ties are slowly broken
One thread at a time
The elevator to eternity
Plumits to its death
The buoy floats off course
Into the wide ocean
Never to be reclaimed
Part II
Floating away from normalcy
Into the unknown
Leaving behind everything desired
And things left unknown
Loosing touch while self-searching
Always questioning why
Never had a chance to hear
The explanation of "I'm sorry"
Or to give one in return
And never had a chance to receive a hug good-bye
Leaving behind the familiar for the new
Unsure that it is what's needed
Or even desired
With no one to share this
Hesitence with
Connected, yet independant
Forever to feel the pain of
The bridge collapsing
Never able to rebuild
One is left behind with the pieces
While the ship sails off to sea
hey you...well i've finally gotten a chance to use a comp so i've read your new (some of it) stuff...wow...it's really good jess...and you did get a hug good bye :P heh, I do feel bad about all the crap that happened...and I'm sorry...and yes another one with out explaination...
floating in the ocean..the ocean meaning conscious and the subconscious would be the most accepted explanation to this imagery. the being above but still connected is a jungian type thought above the conscious where we are aware, to the lower depths of the subconscious. the elevator to enternity then plummenting to its death that sort of takes it out of the paradigm it was in before. im not sure how it fits in there perhaps I missed something now im not dull enough to know that imageries can be linked to each other so i guess im sayin is i dont have to "key" to that lock. other than that very nicely written, mike
huzaa... i feel ya i feel ya .. "The bridge collapsing Never able to rebuild One is left behind with the pieces While the ship sails off to sea" this suqs like hell but its a very good experience to learn from
II part I part.. uhhh... didnt understad everything "Each place the other on the shelf" ??? What does floating really signify? Unsure?... floating=independant?.. well but thats the least You deserve cookie. a really big one for this poem I Liked it andi hope everyhting goes ok with ur friendship
