Description:

There comes a point in every single parents life where he or she has to answer the dreaded question "where is my mom/dad? and why don't they love me?"

Lord knows I don't have all the answers but I do manage to make the best of things.....and so this is a special write to my daughter...though she can not fully understand all of this...one day she will.

(I've been fighting with the stupid pictures for some reason it wont let me post the pic of my daughter so I found a painting that made me smile because it resembled my Selina.)

From a single mother 2 her daughter

Do not let your fathers short comings be your downfall,
Never allow his weakness to make you feel small.
Do not search for him in future men, you will never find him, for he will always be a boy.
You are beautiful, strong minded and kind hearted. Never allow his inability to love more then his self change that or make you bitter.
Though at times tears will fall, know that there is always a rainbow after each storm.
Keep in your heart that I have strived to give you all the love you needed.
For all the times you needed “daddy” and he was not around, I am truly sorry.
I may not have been able to give you a magical kingdom but you will always be mommy’s Princess.
Never let anyone convince you that you do not deserve the crown and each time you wear purple remember you ARE a Reina.
Always follow your heart for it is pure and will never fail you.
In life you will be disappointed more then once but you will also be blessed a thousand fold.
Do not place any man above God for he is the only man who will never leave, disappoint or see you as anything less then what you are, an Angel.
I’ve loved you from the moment of conception, you have always been mine and no matter where life’s journey will take you; I will always be there beside you even if it’s just in spirit.
I can not predict what the future will hold but I can pray for few tears, many laughs and countless smiles.
I love you my sweet Selina. I was there from the very beginning and I will remain until the end. Allow me to be your strength and in turn lend me your courage when need be.

You said all the things I'm sure my mother meant to say to me as a little girl, when she and dad spilt up. This was beautiful. It was...I'm speechless. I'm trying not to cry, because Alot of what you said I had to find out on my own the hard way. I'm glad you have wrote such a endearing poem. And left her a treasure of knowledge. Keep doing what you are doing. This was a fav for sure.

You wrote this beautifully. You managed to bring me to tears which is something I avoid. I have never known my father and know each difficult question you have to answer by heart. You touched my heart so deeply. My mom tells me these things and you express the good with the bad wonderfully. Like how life can be so hard and lonely just because you are so very different from everyone else, but you can do it on your own if you just do your very best. And when you say: In life you will be disappointed more then once. I know what it is like to be disappointed time and again and sometimes your very best just won't get you there, but you have your mom. Who at times is annoying and to worrysome, but is in it with you. I know you care about your daughter, and even if she is angry at you just remember that life throws things at us that can be hard to handle (especially concerning fathers), but she will always love you because you didn't leave her behind.

tina, this is so beautiful and i really feel like crying. i can honestly say that i have never seen a mother express that kind of love for her child, not even my own (then again, my mother isn't very good with words so...) your daughter is very lucky to have a mother like you. i don't think single mothers get enough credit for all they do, but it all of us here know how much you love Selina and all that you would do for her. there is really nothing else i can say that you have not already heard, or do not already know. you are a beautiful woman and mother and i am very proud of you! ...bb...

I love how you put these thoughts into words. It makes peoples minds (or at least mine) wonder: what would happen if... Well, like everyone else has said, she is your's and nobody else's, and you must cherish every second of every day with her. I would like to use this in my Speech class, if that is okay with you. Let me know.
Peace,
TK

There's probably very little I could add to the comments that have already been posted. The most powerful affirmation possible is making known to a child that love is a greater heritage than wealth or pedigree. Perhaps the most compelling reason for doing so is allowing love to develop without the bitter aftertaste an absentee father can arouse. Your heart is in this; both in writing this declaration and in raising your daughter to be an independent woman. Nice writing.

Written with such love from deep within your heart. You've pointed out his short comings in a gentle way here. Showing his inability to be Selina's father through explanations rather than curses. Something she will always remember. I like the way you've pointed out to her, her strength and courage. A wonderful child born of a wonderful mother. She is the frosting on the cake of life produced by you.
Very beautiful and touching, T.

  Tina,
this is so beautiful, it brought me to tears.
How lucky is Selina to have you as a mother. Your love your strength and determination to give Selina the best that you can is truly humbling. In reading this I felt I was witnessing something so sacred a sacrament , I felt I should bless myself in your prescence.

God bless you and Selina!

ahhh T, you beautiful baby girl has been blessed 10 fold to have a mommy as wonderful as you are...the things that you tell her now, will indeed stay in her heart always...and my prediction is that she wont ask about her daddy once she gets older...she will know that she was given all the love in the world by an amazing mommy!

this was very powerful and very well thought out.
i think it would be the perfect letter for your daughter..
it shows so many things that i think she needs to know.

'Though at times tears will fall, know that there is always a rainbow after each storm.'

i love that part.
it really makes it seem better.
though i have always had both parents i know poeple who havnt.
it is a hard thing. but in this i could see how much you really love her.
im sure that you have done a wonderful job of raising her.-

wow... thats an emotional piece. i appreciate your independance and the strenght and support you give your daughter. i also like that you are teaching her to be whole within herself and not look for another person in order to feel complete. that is what i would call a wholesome upbringing... i hope she grows up to be a good person and like you, a good mother..

THis is really touching my heart right now. It really is. Being a single mother requires more strength then any one could possibly know. For you have to give that child answers that even yourself don't fully understand. Especially as to..why isn't daddy around all the time. How do you answer that? I mean...fully answer that. A child is something to cherish. That is your blood. Some men aren't meant to be daddy's...it's amazing they can be fathers.

This was a excellent view into a mothers heart and mind. Selina is graced to have such a wonderful mother. You give her such inner beauty and wealth. Just from the love you provide her with.

Wonderful write T!

your sis,

TINA, U MUST REALLY LOVE UR DAUGHTER. NOT THAT IT'S A BAD THING. I LOVE THAT U ARE ABLE TO WRITE A BEATIFUL POEM ABOUT UR SWEET PURLE LOVER DAUGHTER. I LOVE PURPLE TOO! I REALLY LOVE UR INDEPENDENCE AND LEADERSHIP IN UR DAUGHTER'S LIFE. IT'S NOT OFTEN THAT U FIND A MOTHER THAT LOVES HER DAUGHTER SOOO MUCH AND WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR HER. IT REALLY TOUCHES MY HEART. I ADMIRE U FOR WHAT U HAVE DONE. NOT ALL MEN ARE MEANT TO E FATHERS, AND SOME ARE AMAZING DADDIES. SELINA IS UR FLESH AND BLOOD AND I CAN TELL THAT U CHERISH HER SO MUCH. THE POEM FEELS VERY ORGINIAL AND AMAZING. ITS GREAT TO SEE THAT U HAVE SUCH A GREAT MIND AND THE VIEW OF A MOTHER ON WHAT SHE GOES THREW WHEN SHE HAS A CHILD. GREAT JOB AND I LOVED IT. KEEP WRITING.

PS: IM JUST HAVE THE COMPUTER ON CAPS LOCK, IM NOT YELLING.
