We read 'In Thin Air' in English. I based this poem on the death of Rob Hall, I reach out to his children.

    -------------------------------------------

Just a lingering breath of hope
    just that one last chance
just that thing that makes us grope
    through darkened circumstance

Just the thought that all our tears
    had been cried in vain
that all those long extensive years
were not to soon be strained

Maybe he'll die, up on that mountain
that 'Everest' he had to climb
he has to stay up on that mountain
    he's trapped upon its spine

why did he go for that fatal trip
    towards danger oh so clear
to stomp about on the worlds tip
    and complete our greatest fear

he radioed us from the top of the world
to tell of his great fate
he couldn't leave that snow topped world
he had realized all to late

they found him dead on that old mountain
    his passion took his life
my father lost upon that mountain
    paid full his sacrifice

don't tromp about through dangerous land
    no humans meant to roam
where no humans meant to stand
    towards tragedy unknown

I think this is my favorite one I've read yet! I love how it was a very clear picture in my mind about what was happening.

This is one of my favorites. I like the way the beginning catches the readers attention and holds it all the way to your final verse, which gives the reader warning to the danger as well as summing it up in a comfortable manner.

A very reverent and powerful lament about the risk we take with our passions. They lead to places that most humans wouldn't dare tread. A place where we might die for our passion.

Very nice structure and again, the rhyming was very good and not forced or strained. I enjoyed reading this - well done. You are coming on leaps and bounds - keep writing.
