    Description:
Typically how arguments with my husband go. Even with my rather impressive temper, he can get around it. Damn.

    I simply cannot believe
You would do such a thing!
    Do you have any idea....
No, don't you make me smile.

    That was so embarrassing!
The look on the poor hostess's face
    When you....
Charm isn't going to work on this one.

Honestly! What could make you think
    It was perfectly okay to....
Ooh, stop giving me the look
That turns my knees to jelly.

    I'm being serious here!
    You had no right to...
No! I did not just laugh,
    It was a giggle.

    I mean it!
I want to know why you..um...hmm..
    Mmmmmmmmmmmm
    What was I saying?

Gril, I can so relate to this. Just this morning my honey showed his "I didn't mean to" smile at me and I starting smilimg to even thought I wanted to stay mad a little longer. Yeah, I'm the one with the temper also in this relationship. I loved the reality of this and the cute way you ended this. A fav for sure.

hehe...this is cute...i can toatally relate...everytime i get mad at my boyfreind or i'm trying to have a serious conversation he'll do something to make me laugh or smile and it flusters me because i lose the seriousness of the conversation...luckily hes cute enough i don't get angry...and eventually we do talk but he thinks it will soften the situation...he has trouble handling serious emotion...but i think he helps calm my fire ...purps

This was a good poem; untraditional, very uncommon. It's funny how your poem wasn't embellished with poetic phrases but it got the point across just beautifully. My fiancee could make me laugh at a funeral.

    I read it, baby.

This was a really cute poem. That's right I said it cute I'm still in all ways mannish. It reminds me of my relationship. My financee is very conservative so she can blush from embarrasment very easily. When she blushes she has a quarter smile and I love her smile so much that even though she is embarrased and possibly upset I always make her smile and it is one of the best I have seen. I am going to ask her to read your poem.

      Very nicely done!

I love poems and stories that say things without stating them in so many words. The words you used talk about smiling, embarrassment, something done to a hostess and they're almost argumentative. At the same time the poem itself screams "I love you!".

    Good job,
    Steve

That man of yours is impossible to stay mad at! And I can say that, I've watched him mess with you!

What a cute piece, sweetie! It made me giggle- a lot! I happen to have it on good authority that you know how to push his buttons too. I think it's a perfect match! At least you can laugh about it, and that's what life is about- Laughing!

    Love ya!

How sweet.. and haven't we all had moments like this when someone just melts us with a smile when we want to be angry?..lol.
I couldn't help smiling through the entire read.

You did good on this one- just sharing a moment of time, emotions, a bit of humor, and.. life.

    Enjoyable!

Nicely done, Travi, you've captured exactly the mood and emotions you wanted to in this poem.

A neat trick, and, also, some good advice...hmmm so all I have to do is make her laugh? Should be easy for me...you think?

Very good indeed, oh, I hear you're visiting me with Chell (cop THAT, Dave!) ha ha! I hope yous like beer!

    Be Happy

lol. my husband does the same thing to me. though i never thought i was the only one to be undermind by sweetness and charm. i just found this so funny. it sounds like word for word, like the fights i have with my hubby. its just so ironic, that women that have bad tempers marry men who can completely get around it.
    sorry, i'm still laughing.
the wording was perfection, but you didn't do as well as you could have. this could have been written differently, but it was perfect.

If everyone in the world understood the thrill behind passion, we would have a far more happy world, but I suppose a more dull one too.
That ability to be embarassed, to get mad to feel as if all eyes are upon you for that brief flash of "Oh my gawd, you did not just..." and have it followed by instant making up..."all is well - you a*ss" It's what some of the best and longest lasting relationships are made from.

Your second stanza just takes the cake. And when someone can charm your socks off, even after embarassing the shyte out of you - nothing else really matters does it?

    Excellent write Traci

      This was so charming.

I loved the way the piece progressed. Finding myself curious as to what he did, but of course you couldn'gt get that far because he kept cracking you up.
It is so wonderful thet you have that kind of relationship that it can be tough to sustain anger at one another.

It speaks to a deep abiding affection you have for each other.

The form this took was really great. the one way conversation!

    Very nice, Very amusing!

lol...nothing like finding that one person who can make you smile through it all...and melt that stone of anger with just a glance...

sounds like you and hubby are peas and carrots ;)

right on Traci, this is very cool and I relate in a big way to it! trying to be mad at someone but they give you the puppy dog look and you cant bear to be mad at them. I love the "I did not just laugh just a giggle" that is so true! you have captured that well. I want to note how each stanza has you giving in more and more damn this is very good Traci! wonderful display of human interactive phsycology! me likes it alot wall paper time!
