Where have they gone?
Calling and no one hears me.
No smells or sounds of my family.
What’s that noise?
Loud roaring hurts my ears.
Wind howling and water
rushing to break in.
Can’t get out of the four walls,
that surrounds me.
Feeling frantic now.
Why did they leave me here?
Alone and helpless,
trapped in this space.
Crying help falls on no ears.
Can’t escape the rising waters.
Objects speeding by,
trying to hold on
to this raging monster.
I see the feline floating by,
with no life left in her.
Soon I shall join her.
Exhausted from this battle I fear.
One last whimper escapes
my broken heart and forlorn soul.
Darkness is now near.
Spirits of my pals,
beaconing me to join them.
Letting the monster swallow me,
for then I shall be free of this cage.
