Now I Lay Thee Down To Sleep
In Shallow Ground Six Feet Deep
I Miss Your Loving Caring Smile
How I Wish I Could Hold You Again For Just A While
Why Did He Have To Take You So Soon
At Night I See Your Face In The Shade Of The Moon
You Raised Me To Be A Caring Loving Man
But Away From Your Loving Arms I Always Ran
I Never Had A Chance To Say Goodbye
In My Heart I Always Have To Cry
I Know Your In Heaven With God By Your Side
My Life Is In His Hands The Lord Is My Guide
I Know One Day Ill See You Again
My Grandmother Always My Best Friend

Thanks for the advice and comment on my poem "Welcome back my long lost friend".

Sorry Ron. My computer was acting strange when I posted the critique and I seemed to posted more than what we both bargain for. I can't see the delete button either. Do you mind if you can help me?

I love how this rhymes. It brings happiness yet sorrow to my ears and I can't believe this happens to people in real life. this is a really good poem and may God be with your grandmother's soul. I'm really sorry to hear that she died.

    Bless you and your family,

This is so depressing. As a common commenter on your poems, I can tell that you were and still are extremely close to your Grandmother, and that connection is a beautiful thing. I am sure that your Grandmother was a very nice person, and may she rest in Peace.

I had never read any thing of yours which had rhymed, Ron, and to tell the truth, I am not sure why. I thought your rhymes were really cool.

I don't have any critisism for this depressing and powerful piece except that you might want to put some comma's between some lines and also between two adjectives.

Otherwise, this is perfect. We all must be strong when we lose our loved ones, and I am glad that you are writing about it

Lol, this one is good. I've heard this, or something along the lines of this being read by 5 year olds at every funeral I've ever been to, including my 1 year old niece (before you get all, "you don't know my pain"). They are insanely tearjearking things but extremely funny in retrospect . I'm not laughing at your grandmother I'm just laughing at your poem. I am going to be be the first human to ever say it and this is to all you people who have wrote these kind of poems... THEY SUCK

:) How touching, the emotion evoked is simple and yet... overwhelming. Everyone has lost someone, and everyone can relate, youventedfor everyone. Even so long ago, your skill is profound.

This is terribly sad alttle hopeful at the end though. Death like taxes unfortunately is envitable but the thing with death is, its not the final journey, life ends but not here. Your piece said that, good message.

    Good job,
    Jay.

A deep love you have with your family and you portray it well through your writing.

Very well done and extremely touching. An amazingly beautiful homage to your grandmother...it means so much

Excellent. This is the kind of peom that simlpy spells out all that needs to be known and felt of a situation. Even my little sister could read it and explain it. what's best is how the poem is a "dignified elementary poem," so to speak. it keeps rhyme and it tells a story. though the story is sad, the lesson of writing poems is taught. Very good job and thankyou.

Actually, it reminds me of my own passed grandmother. Weren't they just amazing? They get to see the children of their children and remember how things were, and how they are, and maybe even know how they will be. My g-mom was a schoolteacher, so she really kept me in check. but i really miss her, and g-dad sometimes says the same. but even though we miss them , all we can do is take eveything they ever taught us and keep going. That's life. Anyway, thankyou for sharing "Lost Friend." It's a great poem and reminder.

...i have come across many touching poems of lost love ones...Inducted_Kitty's of her son Jeremy are the most memorable. But never have I come across one about the relationship of a grandmother and grandchild. To have that kind of relationship like that with a grandparent must be wonderful. Your poem brought tears to my heart, it is very good. Nicely written.
