What is fairer, day or night, Gleaming yellow or stars shining bright, Laughing sun or crooning moon- Sphere of fire or white balloon? I'll choose the diamond starlit skies For darkness blinds the probing eyes That judge in the misty light of day; Night speeds all those doubts away. With you, the moonlight will illuminate Every beauty we've ever made. Hurry; for the moon rides across the sky- For memories shall fade as the night must die. But listen- music gently floats down from the stars One last, sweet tune to seal the love that's ours Dance with me, add music to this night-time tryst; Wind swirls 'round as we twirl in its midst. Let's savor the time we have together- A single slow dance can be still forever. Though soon this'll all be left in the past, Just hold me, dear, dance while the moon lasts. -Dedicated to Chase Young |
I love I love. Night is such a common theme, but you have taken it to something that I do like, a lot. Several very poetic and heartfelt lines you have here. For some reason, this stuck with me the most "Hurry; for the moon rides across the sky- For memories shall fade as the night must die." Keep writing lovely love poems. I think you have done a very good job with this poem. You have described the evening of your dance very well, and your emotions ring true to that of a young heart in love. Have a great last year together, and may your memories last you both a lifetime! cher | | Posted on 2005-09-16 00:00:00 | by Inducted_Kitty | [ Reply to This ] | |
