    Description:
Haruko and gang are joined by thire other sister and begin a quest to gather supplies. But while tuning the ship they recieve a message that sparks and investigation.

    Fact of the day:

Micron - A unit of length equal to one millionth (10-6) of a meter. No longer in technical use.

Interferometer - An interferometer consists of two or more separate telescopes that combine their signals almost as if they were coming from separate portions of a telescope as big as the two telescopes are apart.

The resolution of an interferometer approaches that of a telescope of diameter equal to the largest separation between its individual elements (telescopes). However, not as many photons are collected by the interferometer as would be by a giant single telescope of that size.

A duffle bag sailed aimlessly through the air and came to rest at the main landing strut next to the Odessa.

“Hey, Mamimi do you have the tools? I need to do a quick alignment on the girl before we take her for a spin.”

“Sure they’re in the bag.” She yelled back at Haruko who was already under the aft end of the craft ratcheting the panel off.

At about that time Rei appeared. “Good let me show you a trick I picked up at when I was a cadet.” Then she slid out from underneath the ship and came face to face with her other sister. “Gahhhh.” She screamed while clutching the spanner wrench.

“Oh hey.” Haruko grinned putting the wrench down. “You could have made some kind of noise to let me know you were there.”

Rei said nothing and in her usual fashion she just stared at Haruko waiting for the punch line.

“Well you’ll find that we humans like to have people announce their presence. Nobody likes to be snuck upon or surprised.” She added.

“I see.” Rei said in a hushed voice.

“Haruko, I got the… oh hey Rei.”

    “Hi.” Rei responded.

“Come to join us?” Mamimi asked.

“Ok you two we’re going to have to cut this short we’ll be arriving at our destination rather shortly.” Haruko took a deep breath.

“Mamimi before I get started set up the interferometer like I visualized.”

    Mamimi Smiled and nodded.

“Ok now that I have you all here. This is an R-9 mark VI star cruiser. The starship of choice for the space patrol it is the work horse of the space patrol brigade. Though the ship has survived 6 upgrades and is a remarkable star craft that has ran in every role from cruiser to bomber. The versatility of the ships put them in high demand. As the company Olympic went from their primary power plant contractor Pratt & Whitney to Genstar because of high demand. The Genstar power plant was a heartier more powerful power plant. But not with out a price.” Haruko stands up and activates the interferometer then removes the cowl off the engine shroud.

Haruko walked over to the power module and flicked it on. It began to hum gently; aligning the detractors she ran a concentrated light beam across the plasma injectors. The light beam diffracted off the ship’s particle stream emitter.

“Ok Rei if you could be so kind as to start the power cycle.”

Rei disappeared and reappeared in the cockpit and activated the power switch.

Haruko gazed wide eyed at the light detractors as they deflected the light off the plasma manifolds.

“Point three microns.” Mamimi muttered to her surprise. ~Uh what dose that mean.~ she asked completely confused.

“Well this ship should not be flying a manifold that is off that far could cause the plasma to go every where or worse detonate.” She said still amazed yet quick to jump into the problem.

“Ok this is a trick I learned, Mamimi start torquing down the manifold. Rei run the power from high to low on the manifold. I’ll level the interferometer to the correct specific thrust.”

As they did so Mamimi broke the silence “Do you think Hollysan would like to come with us?”

Haruko ran the light diffractions till eventually the light beam’s diffractions only represented a single beam with a specific thrust of ten microns.” Knowing that this was the correct parameter for the ship’s operation range she answered Mamimi’s question. “That’s totally up to Hollysan.”

“You can come out now sis the manifold is tuned.”

The Odessa powered down and Rei joined her sisters once again.

“Well I for one think that she would make an excellent addition to our team. By the way Rei you speak British. You’re coming with?” Mamimi asked with enthusiasm.

“No I don’t think so.” Rei said as she entertained the idea of leaving.

“Hey don’t go, it’ll be fu...” Haruko’s speech was interrupted by a beep from the inside of the cockpit.

    “It”

    “Looks”

    “Like”

“We have a message.” The twins said alternately then finally all at once.

“It’s from Quol. The origin is in England.” Rei added after scanning the entry log.
“The location is a suburb just outside of London.”

“Well it looks like we have our first mission and a lead. So gear up and let’s head out.”
Haruko, intrigued by the message began to obsess about the mission.

    “What about…”

“Oh yes, yes we’ll make room for her if she wants to come along.” Haruko sighed knowing where Mamimi’s one track mindset was leading up to. “Rei we’ll meet you out side the suburb.”

    “Of Course.” Then she vanished.

~It’s not like Quol to just leave a message and leave. That Ferengi never shut up.~ Haruko though. Haruko shook it off then went back to securing the cowl to the engine.
~We leave in 10.~ Haruko projected her thought to Mamimi.

"Earth is a great place to stock up on things like food and medicine," Meria explained to Holy Star as they got off the ship. "On Earth, like a lot of the big Federation planets, they practically give food and medicine away. Now, it would be a lot harder for me to buy weapons and ammunition here, but since I have replenished our supplies at our last stop, we don't have to worry about buying any of that here."

"I see," Holy Star said. She was silent for a few minutes, then asked, "So are you going to see your Grandmother?"

"Not if I can help it." Meria said.

Holy Star just nodded. There was an awkward moment. "My being here, it bothers you that much?"

Meria sighed. She didn't want to fight again. "It isn't you, honey. It's just hard to concentrate with you around. You distract me. While that's good when I'm not working, it isn't so good when I am. Listen, I can give you some credits and you can ride first class back home."

Holy Star bit her lower lip. "Okay, alright."

Meria gave Holy Star a peck on the lips. "I'll make it up to you; I promise. As soon as I can get some time off, we'll go to the gardens on Betazed together, alright?"

    "Alright," Holy Star repeated.

Estaban haggled better than a Ferengi, which seemed to surprise the used hover car dealer. The gringo wasn't expecting much out of Estaban and because he wasn't prepared, gave up a better deal than he intended.

Estaban drove away in last year's model of the Hover CAR 3000 but only paid the same amount as a HovMobile 2000. The smile on Tempest's face was worth it, when he pulled up to the Call booth he had left her at.

"Nice job," she said as she slipped into the vehicle.

"I know," Estaban said as he pulled off in the Hoverl car. "What did you find out?"

"My contact said Mojo is no longer in Nevada. He apparently opened a casino in Beantown, so our plans have changed," she said.

"Old Boston?" Estaban said with a groan. "I hate that place."

"That's because you got beat up there last time we went," Tempest said with a smirk. "I personally love waterfront property."

Before the third world war and way back before Earth was a paradise, the whole planet was under seige by global warming. Most of the polar ice caps had melted, and a rash of deadly hurricanes had rendered most of the coastline surrounding the North American and EurAsia continents beachfront property, including the cities of New Orleans, Galveston, Fort Lauderdale, Miami (which has since merged into one giant city encompassing all of South Florida) and Boston.

"You didn't like Fort Miami any better last year," Tempest reminded him.

"Damn alligators," Estban cursed. "I hate Earth."
