The waves fall to my feet casually
Greeting them as if to say hello
As I walk down the endless rows
Of white diamond sand
Farther I walk, and finally I reach you
I touch your pale, cold face
As a radiant pearl tear rolls down
Your cheek, I gently wipe it away as your
Eyes gaze deeply into my soul
You move your lips as if to speak
But your words creep away into the
Undulating waves crashing upon the shore
You quietly touch my hand as our
Eyes meet but they are not looking into
My soul this time they are looking into
My heart as if for forgiveness
As you turn and walk away,
I feel a bittersweet tear fall
Down my face And I understand
What you had wanted forgiveness for. |
