"How can you still love him?" they ask,
"After all that he's put you through?"
She just smiles, a sad, wise smile.
"It's something I'm compelled to do."
"How could you let him hold onto your heart,"
"Knowing the games that he plays?"
She just shrugs, her shoulders slumped,
"Maybe it's just a phase."
"Why do you keep on letting him
Do these things that he does to you?"
She laughs, a twinkle in her blue eyes,
"I've got nothing better to do."
"Why won't you just give it up?"
"Why can't you let go?"
A solitary tear courses down her cheek,
"I don't really know."
"Why do you still love me?" he asks,
"With all that I've done to you?"
"We forgive to the extent we love," she replys,
"I could forgive anything you could do."
