    -------------------------------------------

First light gently wakens the splendor
of the sleepy mountain peaks as an
    inviting breakfast treat.

It is syrup on a pile of pancakes
    slowly slipping down the slope
until it is puddled at my feetů so sweet.

I accept beauty as it finds me.
    My eyes opened to magnificence
    as your breath caresses me.

This is a lovely poem. And not to mention that I got to read this one in the morning! Makes it all the better. This is nicely written and expressed and captures the beauty of the morning in so many ways. The second stanza is really good and I like how you have carried the mountains over into it as the syrup slips down the slope...and then puddles at your feet. This is a wonderful poem and has indeed brightened my morning. Lovely. Take care.

Very cool, to use the mountains as a place where light gathers, because it is an image we all can relate to. The misty dreaminess of love coupled with drippy pancakes? What could be better, I like the conciseness of this one too.

I hope your next love spills down the mountain soon..

A very lovely prayer to nature and your lover. I have watched to sun spill over the mountains a few times myself and it truly is a wonderful experience I always recall. This is beautifully written and was a pleasure to read this early morning, Dan
