Undertaker:Title subject to change -------------------------------------------
FADE IN:
EXT. EARTHEN DAM: NIGHT:
A solitary person stands beneath a starlit sky with the moon just making its appearance known over the distant ridge line. He is dressed in a long flowing black opera coat. He wears black sun glasses that hug his face and black gloves over his hands. The young man just stands there transfixed on a fixed point on the earthen dam. Seconds later flames erupt from the point and spread out across the ground (Camera pulls back to a point above the ground for perspective) cress crossing to form itself into a large pentagram. The young man standing in the middle raises his hands to waist level and begins to murmur. What seems like only seconds since he began the flames extinguish and with it the young man.
CUT TO:
EXT. STREETS OF NEW YORK: DAY:
Camera focuses in on a young man in his early twenties walking down the street. On first notice he looks like every body else on the streets during rush hour. He is dressed in black slacks and shirt with a tie that is deep red that looks black at certain angles. He is wearing a long black trench coat that bellows out behind him as he walks. Besides the trim goatee and mustache he is clean shaven and wears round black sun glasses on his face. On closer look we notice for the first time that people seem to part for him at his approach and he walks with such grace and purpose its like he is not even there. The camera follows him for several moments from the side before losing him as he turns and walks up the steps into a Museum.
CUT TO:
EXT. MUSEUM: DAY:
Camera picks up on the young man seconds later as he walks through the lobby of the museum. Pausing briefly he looks around at the people that are meandering through the lobby as if looking for someone. Almost at once he resumes walking this time walking toward an individual situated at the far end of the lobby on a bench. As the young man approaches we notice that this man is dressed in similar fashion as the young man except only older. Sitting down next to the older man, the young sits there never looking at or making eye contact with the other man. Several seconds pass before the young man speaks.
NICHOLES
(Starring forward at the crowd of people walking by)
Why here Caseous? I thought we agreed to meet in private.
Caseous glares at Nicholes but never makes an attempt to look at him.
CASEOUS
Old habits die hard...
Caseous pauses a moment to take a drag of a lit cigarette that he had been holding at his side.
Exhaling he continous.
CASEOUS
Besides I’m more comfortable doing business such as this out in the open. Less conspicuous.
Nicholes frowns slightly and sighs.
NICHOLES
Very well. What do you have for me.
Caseous pulls a manila folder from the inside of his coat and hands it to Nicholes.
CASEOUS
An assignment. Everything you need to know is in that envelope. Don’t bother notifying me when the job is complete. I will know it is done.
Nicholes opens the envelope and thumbs through the information only briefly pausing on the page that describes what he has to do. After putting the information back in the envelope, Nicholes unbuttons a few buttons on his coat and store the information in an inside pocket.
NICHOLES
Looks pretty cut and dry. When should I begin?
CASEOUS
Soon. Take the usual precautions. I don’t want to have an incident like last time.
Nicholes frowns at the comment.
NICHOLES
Well that’s only because I wasn’t given the all the information. How was to know that the guy had a legion of followers at his mercy. What was I to do stand there and get torn apart.
CASEOUS
No... But you should have known that if you had killed the master the spell that he held over his followers would have been broken. This you could have prevented the massacre that you thoughtfully created.
Nicholes opens his mouth to retort. But Caseous holds his hand up to silence him.
CASEOUS
(Annoyed)
Enough. What’s done is done and there is no need to continue this argument.
Caseous stands to leave but before departing he turns his head to the side and say’s.
CASEOUS
Remember Nicholes keep it clean.
Before another word can be spoken Caseous walks off into the crowd disappearing almost instantly. Nicholes just sits there and admires a painting by Leonardo Davinci.
I think this is very good...very thrilling... Its a very good start...I dont know how you do it, but you catch the reader all the way. If you can keep this suspence up that you have build...and with a good story...I think you have a number one. I really like these ones you write. Excellent... :-) Both tumbs up. (Your my favorite so far...keep the good work up).
Cool but I'm left wanting more. This seems cut off and unfinished. Perhpas extend the ending so that more happens or something. The rest was typical of your style and i loved it, which is why I think the ending falls flat.
