I wrote this because I just wanted to. I seem to think in song. I write poems, but wen I write them out loud, as I do, they come out as music. Any poetry slammers out there I'd appreciate tips.

If I should die before I wake,
and never again meet the day,
You know what? That just might be okay.

Because you don't need me anymore, no more than I need me.
And in my house I'm just the wallpaper,
    Nothing there to see.

If I should die before I wake,
and never get to greet the dawn again.
For you, would it be the end?
Or just some loose ends knotted up.

Do I really mean that much to so few?
Do I seem like so little to so many?
    Do I look like I need to be used;
    taken for granted?
Do I have a sign on my back that says
    empty space, use as wanted?

And if I should die before I wake,
could you please take off the tape that holds the sign? Could you rip me off the walls, show people that I'm more than a flat surface?
Could you please wash me off so I don't look like I did? So I don't need to be used, abused, and taken for granted.

If I should die before I wake,
that's all that it would take,
to make it okay for me.

You have a very mature view and way of expressing yourself for a teenager - but you still keep it simple and with depth and meaning.
    This was a well-done piece!
Don't get discouraged - I sometimes don't get a lot of comments either but when you write for yourself and for your expression and growth - that's what matters!
    Great day!
