I wanted to have this poem in here days ago, but couldn't get in...Hope it still made it in time.

Sister

-------------------------------------------

When we were small, how we played
New things each and everyday
Clothes and toys we would share
This showed us how to care
Teenage girls, thrown away toys
Spent alot of time talking about boys
We had our fun with all our friends
Boy, was it life way back then
Always there for each other
My little sister, I'd let no one bother
Older now with families of our own
Grandkids for me, you yet have none
The joys of mine you stood by my side
Sharing our troubles, together have cried
We have shared so much through the years
Smiles, so much laughter and our tears
The miles, I hate that has separated us
Although we manage to stay in touch
My baby sister, I thank God everyday
For sending such a person my way
Hope your birthday was special and true
A wonderful day just for you!!!

  This is a beautul poem and it shows alot of love between the two of you and it is a great way to say happy birthday to your sister I really like this one alot and I am looking forward to reading more of your poetry in the days to come. I hope you will enjoy more of mine as well like this one alot

  wow that's cool. i didn't know she was ur sister. i feel the same way about my bro except he kinda aggravates me like none other. hopefully when we're older we'll still be on good terms and best friends the way u and ur sister are. good write

  I didn't know that you and Sandra were sisters. Learn something new everyday. I have enjoyed reading her work, just as I have yours.
I used to always wish that I had a sister, or a brother for that matter. I think this is a very sweet and loving poem for you sister.

  Sisterly love is something very special and pure. I have three sisters and they are very close and always spend much time together.

You captured your love for your sister perfectly Linda, and it made for a very compelling and lovely read - well done.

  Sisters should always remain friends, as well. To nurture such a lasting relationship, says to me that you come from strong family ties. I know, as a father of three girls, that I hope they will stay as close as you and your sister seem to be. This was a terrific birthday present for her, because it came straight from your heart. I'm sure she loved it, and, now, we get to enjoy it.

  This is a really pretty poem Linda, I'm glad to see that you and your sister still get along with each other and love each other this much! Kinda makes me wish I had this for my life... but I don't wanna seem selfish! (Sorry, I'm just in a bad mood!)

  oh you have made me cry! i am the baby sister and i wish mine felt for me like this! i have written a poem called "sisterly love" i havent posted it here yet, i will do it tomorrow, this is the kind of poem i would have much rather have written for my sister, unfortunately we did not have this kind of relationship. i am so glad that you do!~~tracy

And her birthday was November 13 Mine is November 18th tommorow

   Linda, what can I say to this? It's beautiful. Thank You. It's nice to think about the younger years when we shared nearly everything with each other. The good times, and some bad. And to have an "older" :) sister to look after me.
It's a wonderful birthday poem..
and I cherish it.

  Hey! I didnt know Sandra is your sister. How wonderful! I love to read her poetry and when I read this poem I just said...Hey! That is so cool the two of you are here together and how lovely this poem is that you wrote for her. You touched on your lives together, growing up and sharing experiences and it is just beautiful! I am an only child, so I missed out on that bond that siblings share. It is always nice to read about sibling relationships that are full of love and respect. I have seen a lot of discourse in my life with my friends and their siblings so I was usually grateful I was an only child. But I will admit, there are times when I wish I had a sister to lean on. But, hey, take the bad with the good and there were a lot of benefits to being an only child too. Anyway, a lovely poem for a wonderful person. Thanks for sharing. Take care.

  Well< I told you before that I am a sucker for family writes. Guess you know where this one is going.

It is awesome that you can pen you deepest appreciation and love for your sister.

There is such memory in this write. You take us on a ride through the years and give us insight to you and your sister. I didn't know that she wrote here.

I cannot express in words ( rare for me ) how I feel while I read this write.

I have a twin sister and we share so much even though we are many miles apart. I don't think that I could go one day without hearing her voice.

Again welcome back and great write here.
