    Beautiful, that I
have known people with minds like Mediterranean skies,
no matter what grey black fleeting clouds
    may come,
these minds always reset to blue thoughts.

    Beautiful, that I
have known people with lucid eyes like icy salt water,
no matter what mud may spoil the pool,
what sludge, clay or silt may spill,
these eyes retain Februaryís fresh look.

    Beautiful, that I,
have known people with hearts ceaseless as Caribbean waves,
no matter what storms may weather their surface,
    these hearts remain sublime
as that first day we saw them.

      Beautiful, that I
have known a poet with a soul fresh as virgin snow
no matter what pain blackens the day
this soul soon finds the beauty again

(and more important to me, she shares it)

Sorry, I'm rushed this morning, but I just wanted to say Hi and compliment you on another wonderful piece.

I love how each part starts out with "Beautiful, that I".. and then leads us into the beauty you see in others- the people that share your life. And I love the admiration and respect you seem to have for each one.
That said, I also love how you chose to express those feelings. Seeing deeper than the outward picture and into their minds, hearts, and eyes. I liked your use of water, sky, and earth. And the resilience of these people you speak of, their abiding strength to remain true, no matter the dim circumstances that life may bring.
    Overall a very nice read.
    I enjoyed!

Aaaah what a marvellous tribute to BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE...Hey I was so engrossed into the fine crafted piece, but to me its really your thoughts that caught my eye along with the title ofcourse...A very wonderful read...I have nothing but good feedback on this write...I was so captivated..Indeed the greatest capactity each of us still has "CELEBRATING HUMAN GOODNESS"...Its all we have to drive this ship...Regardless of everything else that seems to occur, there's a great deal of beauty surrounding us particularly from our fellow earthlings...A thoroughly enjoyed write..THANK U FOR SHARING...Be happy..Nobantu

I think you've got a great way with words. I understand what you are trying to do with the format...the repeating patterns of lead in words...I felt your rhythm was just a little labored or too predictable for this to work at its full potential here.

The first and second stanzas are a tad obvious and I think there's room to leave the reader to more subtle or abstract phrases/concepts in the middle lines of these stanzas especially given the format of the poem.

nitpicky [censored] for a poem/poet I thought was good and has the potential to polish a piece toward perfecdtion.

A beautifully painted picture of relationships.
Its amazing how much people mean to you- I once tried to live in solitude- though human contact is needed for life.

You did a beautiful job on writting it also.
Your words very delicate to discribe your feelings.
Flowing very easly from line to line.

I couldnt not think of anything to improve it.
    You did a wonderful job-
I am glad you have so many people in your life.
    Take care

I can't find a thing wrong with this one. I have a bias for poems about celebrating human beings. An this one is truly inventive for describing the extraordinary.

    Beautiful, that I
have known people with lucid eyes like icy salt water,
no matter what mud may spoil the pool,
what sludge, clay or silt may spill,
these eyes retain Februaryís fresh look.

All of the verses have a clarity that resounds but I choose this one to reflect, I love to look in people's eyes and this is priceless. To have known people like this is priceless for you,
beautiful images you have created for those you love and revere.

stanza one I see the wonderfully painted illustration of Mediterranean skies and its overcoming all grey/inclement weather. in this relation to the mind, I think of things that plague us doubt, misinformation, a general haziness, confusion. in reading on I see the color reference to thoughts which I take out of it calm/cool, collective, and clarity hmmm three Cís actually four if you count calm and cool.

in the second stanza I see how the eyes are assaulted with mud and other annoyances. the eye to me in this represents perception and those things described (to me) are surrounding stimuli that may warp a perception. though the eyes are continually flushed from what is stated in the first line. the last line with Februaryís fresh look. February in many places I would imagine and being clear and crisp.

third stanza heart in relationship to the ocean. the ocean can rage and have a calm, I would say very much like the human heart. this is pure beauty in its words. I would love to see another stanza in dedication to the human spirit, only if you choose of course.

the theme: stanza one general them the mind and thoughts. stanza two: perception in day to day life. stanza three: the human heart.

my favorite stanza here is stanza two. very nicely done here Selina,

This is really lovely. I love the comparisons of minds to the Mediterranean and the way that the water metaphor is extended throughout and the hearts as ceaseless as the Caribbean sea. The compaison to eyes like February is also very beautiful but most of all I love that you wrote it for me. Thankyou.

this is kinda beautifull and I don't say that often about anything..But yeah it is good to know these kinds of people --the unspoiled I guess/ the ones that no matter what happens they are the same sturdy object as they were before....i myself have been lucky and unlucky with the characters I do know and honestly I am glad to knopw all of them forr some strange reason...even the ones I don't like
