    there is a man
who would stay out in the cold
eating what was in the garbage cans
    when food was not given
we would often stay up the night
    so he could talk
    about years gone by
often with a tear in his eye
    he was a marine that
saw his share of the war
he was frightened by the bush
knowing that all the death was unjust
he needed to stay outside feeling closer to god
and with his share of health problems
    physical and mental
he still was full of stories and lessons in life
god called him home in a sad sort of way
broken neck and on a resperator
    but even through it all
you could see god in his eye's
i know that i will not miss him
because his spirit is still around
and i know that i will never see god
    in anyone's eyes like
the man that was my friend

It's a very cliché topic...very overdone. Although I like reading things like this around Christmas. It's just a kick in the face for all those stereotypical people who depend on very material things. keep on kickin

    much love,
