just thinking about how much emphasis we place on our weight nowadays...if you're healthy your fat and if you're sick and thin you look's just so f***ed up

what do we consider fat?
if we can't see our bones?
can't count our ribs?
can't see our sholder blades jutting out of our back?

to these people we say;
you look great
you look thin
you look wonderful

but what are we really thinking?
you look sick
you look drugged
you look anorexic

no we keep these thoughts hidden
we try to fit in
we go on diets
we give into the pressure

a regular pop is too much
a diet is better
a cheeseburger is a sin
salads are our gods

we starve ourselves
and work out for hours
as our body deteriorates
and our wills our crushed

Nice write. I enjoyed it very much. I agree that society plasses people by the way they look. if they are skinny, they are beautiful, but if they are fat...they have problems. Keep up the good writing :) hope to read more

It is a sad fact, but society shapes our lives. Your write strikes at the heart of lots of things. We all need to be who we are and being fat or thin it should not matter. A really good write.

I totally agree, but not all the skinny people in the world try to look the way they are. I'm skinny, but I eat like non-stop and I can't help but talk back when someone calls me anerexic when I'M NOT! Now, I'm not acussing you of anything, I completely think it's wrong when someone makes fun of someone who's "fat", as society calls them. It might be anything from an eating disorder to the fact that they might be way too stressed out! I really liked your poem, but just to let you know, not all of us skinny people are that way, I'm here for you. :-)
