If you are familar with the metaphors of mystic poetry, you'll understand the true nature of this poem. It really is about prayer. If you read The Season, that was the nightime. This is the awakening from that place. I hope you enjoy it.

Early morning is when you wake her.
It is not quite night and still not light.
The dense stillness wraps and warms her soul
like thickness of a plush terry robe.

She sips coffee as you rub her neck,
She relaxes in touches of love.
You start holy pleasure in darkness
then welcome the dawn with ecstasy.

Passion is her prayer and offering.

I will assume you know what a 'prayer closet' is and this is a different take. Its a special time, just as awakening to a new day.
Its a time of insight, just as when your getting a back rub and a fresh coffee under the nose.
Relaxing in touches of love- recieving the still small voice nurturing the soul and filling us with sttrength for the day.
One must know the one to see the other, much like Ronnie does.
Ecstacy here is not sexual, its shear joy knowing that all will be well and power will be yours to follow the path trodden before us.
I commend you here for two well written moving poems to stir the soul, now will those who are blind see? Might the lame walk, and the sick be healed? We never know how much seed sown will grow now do we?
Great writing, no changes needed unless you find a typo or two.

Chrys, I may be missing something, but I don't see any "holy" references here, except for your use of the word, and I took that as a simile for "pure"

I thinks it's totally sexual and sensual, and describes the perfect morning. Mystically, you may have personified the dawn perhaps, but the coffee reference threw that out.

Excellent work, it's great when a piece evokes different interpretation, although Ron seems to see God even in a train ticket.

    Well done, i loved it

    be happy

This is great personification. You weave the image of passion into your day, a romance you awaken like a favorite song.
She is there and yet, the slightest coaxing and tenderness brings on her crescendo.

Simply beautiful, Chrys, I want to remember it every morning
and stretch into love's purpose like music awakening.

    love and light,

this made me think both of God and of my love..
i could picture the Divine massaging the cricks in
my neck from hard work, welcoming me in the
early morning light.. it also takes me to days
with my love, making morning coffee to greet her
when she wakes, wrapping a terry cloth robe
around her for warmth along with my love..

very nice write Chrys.. i like the ending lines, "Passion is her prayer and offering." this makes
me think of having passion for life, greeting the
day with a prayer and an offering to Divine love.

Sensual and descriptive. I felt that you might be referring to morning love makingand if you were then you did a creative way of describing it very well.
