Dedicated to my dear sweet, giving Mother!!!!!!
Whom I love with all my heart!!!!!!!

Make the font bigger!! Double Spacing Back to recent posts.

When we were little and very small
Mom would look out for us all
Making sure we were tucked in tight
Looking in on us each and every night
She made a house of haven and rest
Causing us to feel so very blessed
We had such a loving and caring home
    Always having someone, never alone
A big hearty breakfast every morn
Loved since the day we were born
Along with the other dishes she fixed
Three kinds of beans would be mixed
Large, baby Lima's and navy beans too
For us children, that is what she would do
Fixing all our clothes and mend our hearts
When someone had hurt it and tore it apart
Coming in from school in the afternoons
A lemony smell of freshness in every room
Remembering now that I am grown
How Mom made our house a home
Filling our home with such loving care
Holding those memories close and dear
Myself, praying to have her giving heart
Without a gift, she would let no one part
She will give you the clothes off of her rack
And Mom will not expect anything back
Out of her cabinets, groceries she will give
Making sure you have, this is how she lives
Mom is a great big diamond in my eyes
Her giving does not take me by surprise
That is just the kind of woman she is
And for this, I feel surely blessed

Indeed you were blessed to have such a wonderful mother. Sounds like you had a great environment to grow up in. Wouldn't it be great if every child could have what you had and every mother could be as great as your mom was. I think you have a great sister too, and I am sure she feels the same about you.

A tribute to your mother. Every child should take a page from your book.

Yeah, I can remember the days growning up also. The part about the smells in the house brought back memories of Cinnimon.
To this day every time I smell cinnimon I get home sick

Thank you very much fro sharing your mother with us.

    Respect and Admiration

I think this is a lovely tribute to your mother. She sounds like a wonderful person. I think anyone who has a great mom will be able to relate well to this poem. I know I certainly can. My mom is my best friend. It has always been just me and her for my whole life. My dad died when I was four and I am an only child. Me and my mom are only 19 years apart in age, and we have the most wonderful relationship. She is the best woman I know and the most wonderful mother anyone could have. She is a strong lady and raised me well and now that I am older, we are even closer and the best of friends. You have written a lovely poem dedicated to your mom. I dont see anything I would change and I think you should give her a copy of this. It would surely make her day! Beautiful poem. Take care.

This is a nicely written tale about your mom. The form is a little loose, but, in a way, that almost gives it it's charm. You seem to be more interested in sharing your love for your mom than in writing lockstep meter and that's way it should be.

    Keep up the good work,

my eyes started wtering at the end. It was so perfectly described, i could see it in my mind.
Your poem seemed to follow a pattern, each line rhyming with the next, except for the last two. But i think that it gave it a uniqueness.
    God Bless You,

A mother's love is so pure and unconditional and quite possibly, the purest love of all. So nice to see someone openly celebrating their love for their mum - this makes this a very touching and beautiful write.

My mum is 75 and still going strong and I make a point of visiting her as often as I can with my two daughters. They love their nan as well.
