    dotsFreedom for a Daydots

Riding her Harley, her face to the wind
Feels more free than she has ever been
She puts her bike into high gear
Thinking of one she holds so near
Picking up speed, as she sped away
Laughing aloud and feeling so gay
Her long hair a loose flying in the wind
So much freedom, she just had to grin
Rides all the way up to the mountain top
This is where she decides to make her stop
Water cascading down the side of the mountain
Beautiful, enticing, plunging like a water fountain
Stepping under the water letting it hit her face
This was hers, hers alone secret hiding place
Going and lying her wet body in the sand
Slept and had those same dreams again
Grabbed her clothes, she throws them on
Than on her bike, she sped on home
The wetness of the water still against her skin
As she rode thinking of the dream that had been
In her mind it did stay almost every single day
She embraced it, but knew to put it at bay
Pushing on riding her Harley long and hard
Seeing him in her mind, lets down her guard
Oh well, what the heck,,Today let it be a reality
Feel with her body and soul, just for now let it be
Letting a sense of reality and freedom ring
Today lifting her voice and letting it sing

Call me old fashioned, but the B*tch belongs on the back, holding on and making the biker look good. Sorry, but park the wheels and jump on!
The naked shower part and all the speed, well thats OK. Freedom needs 'wings' not just rubber and nuts for a vibrator.
Well, are you mad at me yet???? Hahahahaha!
I'm just kidding, You look cool on a bike, and you deserve one.
This was quite a ride, and you made us want a ride(either way we can get it).
A smile is always better after a snarl, I hope the smile has returned
Do you remember 'Freedoms just another word for nothing else to lose'?

Wow! what imagery, I was there on the bike with you arms around you securely as you picked up speed.

I agree with the others that there's something about a beautiful, feminine woman on a Harley that is very powerful.

How wonderful that you have that kind of free spirit and independence!

    YOU GO GIRL!!!!

Well, this was fun and refreshing. I enjoyed reading it; you really brought a touch of freedom. Including her dreams in this story you gave it a deeper meaning. We all need a few hours and some secret place to get in touch with our dreams and with ourselves in a way.

love the way to combine the freedom of the road, with the freedom of nature at the waterfall...
i do not yet have a bike of my own, but hope to soon own one, but i know the feeling of the freedom in nature... that is where most of my poetry was written or where the inspiration to write was found...
this is a great write for the heck of it... it makes a great read, and would be great in a book... hopefully you'll get it published, eh?
anyways nicely done, i've got nothing else to say...
    PEACE and LOVE, greg

Well now, A Harley Mama too. HAHAHA

She can write poetry and ride a Hog.

Yes, for years the HD or any other bike has been freedom. To be one with the road as well as nature.
Now the waterfall and the dream those are
disires that have to be quenched from another well.
Doesn't it just feel good to feel the wind as it hits your face? Doesn't just feel good to be free?
Oh, I can't say anything that hasn't been said before. I just like the write and the more I try t think of something to say the more I get frusterated at trying.
I think I will just say...Thanks for the sled ride

    Respect and Admiration

I love when a woman finds freedom and excitement in what is usually a mans realm. You obviously grasp the zen of riding a cycle and from one who also shares that experience I think you did a very nice job of expressing it. I enjoy the simplicity and forthrightness of your poetry each time I read it. Nice work! Dan

There is nothing like a woman and her Harley! LMAO!

This was very well put together. You told such a story. I could really see her with the imagery that you portrayed in this. It is great when a person can find that place to go where they can get in touch with themself and leave the rest behind. And I assume that it would be even more of a touch if you were on a motorcycle...as the wind blew in your face and you were still enjoying all that there was surrounding you...all the way down to the smell.

    This was great!

    Much love,

Okay.. I'm going out and gettin' me a Harley.
What a lovely description of how it feels to "be free".. even for a day. Just getting away from it all.. letting loose, and being free.
It's amazing where the mind can take you. Yours went on a nice little journey here. It was fun to read.
Thing is.. sometimes, when MY mind goes off on a journey.. it forgets to come back. LOL.
    Nice write!

This is a lovely poem about being free for a day! Sounds wonderful, this spot in the mountains. I find it is always cleansing for the soul to be able to get away by yourself and spend some time alone. Allows you to really focus on your thoughts and relieve some of life's stress. When I feel this way, I go to the beach. Not far from my house, but just the walk alone is perfect and spending some time breathing the fresh air and listening to the waves usually makes me feel better. Sometimes a brisk walk in the sand along the shore helps too. You have painted some nice imagery with your descriptions and written another fine poem. Great work. Take care.

I'm gonna have to add this one to my favorites list Linda...
I think this is a very well written piece and it is easy to read, just love the thought of freedom and the idea of being free as the wind. But also as reallity sets in even though we are somewhat free we do and will always be bound by responsibilities, but, that's ok.
    Enjoyed the read very much,

Long live freedom Linda. Nothing better than driving along with the wind in one's face and letting the road take you along.

I am not a biker, but I really liked the picture you created of a lone biker just doing their thing, yet still remembering certain things.

Again, a forthright and inspiring piece - well done.

Riding her Harley to the mountain top. Bathing in a waterfall. Riding home. Freedom, as seen through the eyes of a woman. This puts a nice and fresh twist to the open-road as a symbol of freedom. The fact that she is female and rides, modernizes the image. Her quest for freedom is expressed and captured in her naked waterfall shower, and the fact that she remained this way until after her nap and dream. Her realization of her freedom on the ride home rings of words from songs of freedom. That's a nice use of imagery. So, what can I say to help?
Well, in L5 you use "speed" and "sped", and I think too close together. I would change "sped" to "raced" or some other word. In L6 I'd drop the word "so". At L7 you don't need "a" before "loose". I'd also add "and" before "flying".

I hope these little things help. Otherwise, let me say that I liked this, a most enjoyable ride, and a lovely poem. I think this sets free a notion of independence that we can all embrace. I loved it!
