I found this, horribly written, on the back of one of mum's old school books. I went through it and fixed gramatical errors and changed a few things. If you know of the original author, do post.

    dotsMiss Heroindots

So now little man, you've grown tired of grass,
    LSD, Goofballs, Cocaine, and Hash.
And someone, pretending to be a true friend,
Says, "I'll introduce you to Miss Heroin"
Well honey, before you start fooling with me,
Just let me inform you of how it will be.
For I will seduce you and make you my slave.
I've sent men much stronger than you to their grave.
You think you could never become a disgrace
And you end up addicted to poppy seed waste,
So you'll start inhaling me one afternoon,
You'll take me into your arms very soon.
And once I have entered deep down in you veins,
The craving will nearly drive you insane.
    You'll need lots of money (as you have been told);
For darling, I'm much more expensive than gold.
You'll swindle you mother; and just for a buck,
You'll turn into something vile and corrupt.
You'll mug and you'll steal for my narcotic charm,
And feel contentment when I'm in your arm.
The day when you realize the monster you've grown,
You'll solemnly promise to leave me alone.
If you think that you've got the mystical knack,
Then sweetie, just try getting me off your back.
The vomit, the cramps, your gut tied in a knot,
The jangling nerves screaming for just one more shot-
The hot chills and cold sweat, the withdrawal pains,
Can only be saved by my little white grains.
    There's no other way, and there's no need to look;
For deep down inside, you will know you are hooked.
You'll desperately run to the pusher, and then,
You'll welcome me back to your arm once again.
And when you return (just as I foretold:),
I know that you'll give me your body and soul.
You'll give up you morals, your conscience, you heart,
And you will be mine until,

Wowww...and I love the story about how it was on the back of some old notebook....that makes it better for me. Okay, it pretty much flowed great and it is just a good poem, especially the closing line. You do sorta get drawn in, and I imagined myself as being the addict, and I had the whole picture in my mind, of everything. I'm glad you decided to share. Peace, LucyDiamond

i dont know who wrote it! but it is pretty good. I honestly haven't read poetry about heroin like that...whoever did write it must have had some connection to someone who was hooked on heroin or soemthing..its sad to see that people would ruin their lives for something as stupid as drugs... i hope this poem finds its rightful author!

Some say that "Miss Heroin" was written by someone who overdosed shortly afterwards. Most credible sources reveal that it was written many years ago by Duncan MacLaughlin, a Scottish nobleman and detective attached to the Central Drug Squad at New Scotland Yard, England.

The official title of this poem is "Take Me In Your Arms". Several lines, including the title have been changed and added over the years, and many people have claimed authorship.

This is a very deep poem. You almost get drawn in as though you are the addict.

Very deep. thank you for sharing this.

Interesting... A combination of Herion and Marriage... hah... both seem to be life sucking events :) I didn't really mean that honestly. Anwyays!

This still has a lot of grammatical errors... little things that are quickly fixed (and were most likely a lot of typos) and I agree that it needs to be reworked to get the repetition out of it... It would be more powerful if it weren't so damned redundant.

As for the message that lies behind it... Its true unfortunately... It makes people crazy... and its just a nasty drug all around.
I hope you find the author.

I don't know who wrote it, but it is pretty good...I would edit it further to eliminate redundancies but it sends a powerful message, for sure!

I am fortunate to have never been brave enough (or stupid enough) to venture into the world of drugs but DO know others that have...and have had their lives ruined because of it...

Hopefully this poem and others like it will help to dissuade SOMEONE from getting into it...
