A Fervent Reflection
Another year has come and gone
Another year for us to look back upon
The new friends we made
and old ones we wouldn't trade
Good times we hold dear
as we turn the page
and start a new year
You are so right, I wouldn't want to lose any of the friends that I have made this year, especially those from this site, including you. There will be more to come man, more to come. Thanks for the mini universal tribute, it's awesome.
I wouldn't trade any of them either LT. This was a great tribute to everyone and a beautiful way to ring in the New Year. Lets just hope that things are much better than the last.
I so thoroughly enjoy those moments of pure reflection that leave you feeling content and whole. It's funny, when I first started on this site, I was out to piss people off and be done with it. Now, over 200 days later I can't imagine a single day without seeing my friends or popping in to say hello. I certainly am glad I get to include you in my group of friends. Traci :)
I can't imagine Christmas without the holiday wishes on friends sites. I expect a snowball fight to break out on this site any time. I read the Christmas poems to my children. I hope no one I know here will be alone during the holidays.
I am glad I have had the chance to meet you (blah), to talk smack with you (blah, blah), to laugh at how we became friends (snigger, snigger,blah), to read your thoughts on screen.
I am proud of you, damn it, giving up drinking is hard and you have done so well. This year holds many good memories for me, and now this poem is one of them.
I think this would make a wonderful holiday card/message to send to friends and family. this is certainly a time to reflect on the blessings of the past year, and to look forward to what the new year brings. you've summed that up quite well here. :)
I like the simplicity of this poem and I found myself reflecting upon the last year, all the new friends I had made and the fun times I have had. It's been a good year for me, I wish the same for you and others for the next year.
