Description: A poem of love, of the calm that arises after the initial burst of passion when it comes to love and romance.
Dedicated to my Rob.
The first three stanzas may seem dark, but the last four counteract this.
This was written on a whim while in the car with my mother, I had been thinking a lot about Rob and everything that was going on and this just flowed.
Ashes of a Rose. -------------------------------------------
I bathe in the ashes of a rose
Still warm with the life it once radiated,
Now inanimate in its feigned destruction
A beauty no longer recognized.
But I remember
When you love you never forget
The thick red joy that flowed through
As blood through my veins.
Now that I've felt it
This burning red rose
I'm destined to forever
Be warmed by its sinking chill.
This charred fleur
Took the ice from my heart
And replaced it with a soft glow,
That was dimmed by the flame.
But now in this calm
The ashes and aftermath
The spiritual flame, both humble and shy
Shines out clearer.
In the birthed serene,
After the flame of a passion,
Which has dulled the sun's intensity,
Always shall the heart glow.
And this glow shall inform passersby
Of the immortal joy experienced
By the love of another and that they now
Bathe in the ashes of a rose.
I really liked this poem.It has a very distinct emotion and feeling set to it.Yet you warn others how much love can truly hurt.Very nice and definatly a fave.
