Description: just an attempt to describe an absolutely beautiful snowfall of big, fat flakes that sparkled and dressed my yard in a blanket of cold, white stuff.
Winter's First Fall -------------------------------------------
each snowflake is unique in itself
laden with the moisture of life.
frozen in time by its travels
through the cold of the deep, dark sky.
a gentle wind blowing through the bare trees
softly pushes the snowflakes into place,
to cover the branches completely
in a dress of velvety white.
branches laden with sparkling diamonds
reflect the stars above.
as they bow to the goddess of the moon
they gently sweep the ground.
diamonds sparkle everywhere
as the snow blankets all you see.
covering the remnants of autumn
and put the world to sleep.
the trees dance with the music
of that gentle winter breeze.
This is really nice and relaxing reading this is like listening to a nice mellow jazz song while you look outside wour window on a wintery night and see the snow covering the trees and the pretty white glistening sparkles everywhere while drinking a cup of tea while everyone in the house is sleep but you, so as you can tell i really loved the poem i am going to add to my faves
I think this is beautiful. It brought images and feelings of the winter to me. I could feel the wid and the cold. I think that keeping it short and simple was wonderful. I love the line describing the trees as "in a dress of velvety white." I think that was an excellent way to describe the snow covering a tree. Thanks for the great read. Briannan
Anyway, as for improvement, I was a little disappointed with the end. It just kind of...stops. Maybe another one or two lines would make it right, with a nice ending just like the rest of the poem.
